If possible, do not stay at this embassy suites in San Marcos. My family and I love embassy, we always stay there because usually we have a great stay, with great amenities and wonderful food. But since the beginning we had a terrible experience with this one: room was never ready (I asked and booked a wellness room because my daughter is super allergic and didn’t get one), there was not enough pillows and blankets in the room and had to go get them at 10 pm, kids were running and knocking on doors in our room till midnight and after asking management multiple times for help they just ignored the problem. They really don’t care about the guest and they seem to be pretty busy.

It was so crowded kids running around everywhere without supervision. The room had a smell to it as well. Ppl were super loud in the lobby till about 12am.

We booked just a one night stay to celebrate my child graduating elementary school. She wanted to swim, order room service, and just have a good time. We do this often. Stay at random hotels nearby to swim and relax and out of all of them over the last few years, this one got the highest rating from both the kids and the adults. The rooms were spacious, super clean, and had a mini fridge and microwave which is super beneficial when staying with children. The pool was salt water, refreshing, big, and not in direct sun. The room service was prompt and the food was delicious and reasonable priced. The free breakfast buffet in the morning had a decent selection and an omletter bar. Additionally, the staff were beyond helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend this hotel if staying in the San Marcos area.

We were there with a large group. Dani at the front desk made sure to make us feel welcome and went out of her way to help us. She was incredible. She went over and above to make sure our family was taken care of. Will absolutely stay there again.

Good space for our extended family to gather.
What wasn't up to expectations was a luckwarm shower. Plenty of hot water in the sink but not the shower/tub.

The hotel is nice and the staff was great. The room was a bit dated and furniture was beat up. The space in the room was nice and we appreciated the two TVs for the kids and adults to split up. There was not enough pillows for everyone and there was no condnitioner in the shower. The breakfast was meiocre, eggs were cold, coffee was super weak, overall offerings were lacking. The location is good and the overall experience was good. The snack bag provided was a hit with the kiddos!

I made my reservation over 10 months ahead of our family reunion. When we checked in, we requested a high floor near our family. Instead, we were put into a 2nd floor room when the rest of the family were upgraded to the 9th & 10th floors with gift bags. We had no view, no gift bags, no complimentary bottles of water and no family nearby. Some upgraded family were not frequent travelers. Our room needed updating and we had no liquid bath soap for bathing needing to use cheap, tiny bar soap instead. The hot tub was out of order and the outdoor pool was not heated. The breakfast was very good. At checkout, she was very unfriendly, no thanks for paying $244 per night, no smile, no hope to see you again and charged $12 per night for self parking in their huge lot that didn’t have limited space. We will not return or ever stay at a Hilton property again. Marriott Bonvoy treats us much better!

When we arrived an hour after check-in, we were told they didn't have any rooms available at the time and they didn't know when the room would be ready. They had an entire football team checkout late. We were travelling with an infant and wanted to rest and change clothes before attending the football game. We ended up checking in after the game. I asked for a discount on the room and was told they couldn't do that because I'd booked through a 3rd party and not directly with them. I was very disappointed in this response. Also the rooms were old and the tub looked dirty. I didn't shower, opting to wait until I returned home.

This place is totally 80’s! Started having allergic reactions the minute we entered our room!! Asked for non feather pillows told them I’m allergic no response. Food is horrible we ended up with kids menus because it was all horrible they couldn’t even get French fries right. I would not stay here for free. We got the hospitality sweet still smells like smoke from the 80’s . We are here for a vendor show leaving asap in the morning no show just get me out!!!!!
