Staybridge Suites Lubbock South, an IHG Hotel

We’ve stayed here 3 times now do to college events. After this stay it’ll probably be our last, it was $830ish dollars for 2 days during family weekend at Texas Tech and for the amount of money you want to feel like your room is clean, it’s not really all that clean and it’s old and outdated. The shower floor was cracked and brown, the furniture has stains. It’s not the worst hotel for sure and it definitely works in a pinch. It’s just not worth the money. The hotel is in a decent area but we will book somewhere else from now on for that price.

We had high hopes of a great experience and were very disappointed in this property. We booked this property for parents weekend at Texas Tech University paying premium prices due to the weekend. When we arrived no one was at the front desk. When someone eventually arrived there was no "Welcome" or greeting. When the elevator let us off on the 4th floor we were hit with a terrible smell of what smelled like old Italian food. That smell remained the entire weekend stay. The suite was a great set up but the smell was terrible and the service was terrible. The (different) desk clerk at checkout was more of the same poor customer service. Never a "how was your stay" or "thank you for staying with us". We were greeted with "yeah, can I help you?". Both front desk clerks acted as if they didn't care if they were there. The free breakfast was also sub-par. We have stayed in a lot of properties in Lubbock and were disappointed that this one wasn't up to the reviews at all. It was such a missed opportunity for the property and staff to gain new customers....especially on something like family weekend. We will not be staying here again.

First hotel i every stayed at with a full kitchen. Was very nice. Seemed very clean. But i still buy products to do a good cleaning myself. Staff very friendly. Parking area well lit. The price was awesome. Stay 5 days to visit my grandkids. They stay with me the whole 5 days. They really enjoyed the hotel and the breakfast.

Perfect perfect for a family! We have struggled for a decade with three kids trying to get privacy and rooms/beds for everyone. We have never found a suite like this with two real bedrooms. Great breakfast. Cookies at check in. Easy walk to restaurants. This is our go to from now on.

So we stayed here because it was to celebrate Thanksgiving with our kids who attend TTU. Great location because so much is so close. The only thing I did not like is how to make the faucet in the bath turn on the shower head! That has to be the most ridiculous thing ever bought by any hotel chain!!! No instructions were given in the room and just dump design. Otherwise, the stay was great the room was perfect, and the staff was amazing!!!

This is our go-to hotel when we are in town visiting family. I love the structure/layout as well as the location, staff, and amenities! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lubbock, Texas!

Our family of six walked in at 3am to the friendliest two young men. They had smiles on their faces and want to serve us. It was the best greeting we have experienced in a long time.

They called and canceled our room because of a “plumbing problem” that was just in the room they had us assigned to. They knew about the “problem” since 2 pm and chose to wait until 9 pm to call. We drove 6.5 hrs and were 30 min away when they called. We were supposed to be staying at this hotel with a large group of other people and we ended up having to stay somewhere else. It didn’t help that there were several events going on in Lubbock and we didn’t have a choice where to stay because there was only one place with a room left. The manager lied and said they found us the room and it was exactly the same as what we booked there. It was not. My family of 4 had to stay in a king single with nowhere for my kids to sleep except the floor on a pile of blankets. Then the next day, the Staybridge charged us for the room as a “no show” then gave us the runaround when we called to ask why we were charged for the room. When we told them we were going to drive over there for a cash refund, they sorted it out pretty quickly but the charge was pending on our bank account already and it took a couple of days to get our money back.
