Hyatt Place Houston/Katy

We reserved two rooms and when we arrived at the property our rooms were not ready. Check in is at 3pm. We had to drive around for 3 hours and then only one of the rooms was ready at 8:30 pm. Our other room wasn’t ready until 9:30pm. We had 3 children with us and it was very difficult and inconvenient to not have a room to check in to. It would have been difficult in the best of circumstances, but we have twin 6 year olds that are autistic and it was a nightmare for us having to drive around for hours. If we would have known that the rooms would not be available for 5 to 6 hours after check in, then I could have made the decision to make other arrangements. On the day of checkout, I talked to the front desk about discounting the first night since the rooms weren’t ready. The lady at the front desk was very rude. When I explained to her had I been informed that rooms would not be ready until 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm respectively, I could have made other arrangements. To which she replied: “There was no other hotels available and if I found one it would probably be charging me $400 a night.” The staff asked me to be flexible in the time I checked into our rooms and I was asking them to be flexible in discounting the room. Second, two assumptions she had 1. There were no other hotels available 2. I could not afford $400 nightly. The hotel didn’t have power until 2pm that day, but we were not aware of that. We were getting a hotel because we didn’t have power at our home.

The stay began smoothly especially after a long flight so transitioning into the time change and atmosphere a nice check in was awesome. Thereafter the room refrigerator was broken so they had to change it out the following day which was no problem, they even hold the milk I had downstairs in their refrigerator which was nice. Throughout my time the stay was ok. The breakfast was mediocre, found a roach crawling in my room, but what took it over the top was after a long day out with the kids and time for bed the fire alarm went off woke no explanation of why and what’s going on for about 2-3 minutes. Will I come back im pretty torn between decisions but with the kids no I won’t.

Stayed 1 night with family, room was clean and AC worked great. Bed was a little uncomfortable but not a big deal.

Affordable AND clean! Will definitely be staying here again if my family and I visit the area again.

The stay was just fine. My family took showers to start our day and when we came back in we didn’t have any restocked towels and when asked when they would have more the front desk responded “whenever a housekeeper washes them”. Other than having to leave and go get them from the front desk when towels were available, the stay and condition of the hotel is fine.

Great hotel to stay at , nice clean, great amenities close to freeway and security in parking lot. The employees were super nice and attentive. Our toddler left his favorite stuffed animal in the room after check out and they were able to find his toy and that meant every thing to us.

Hotels is very clean and quiet. Room was very spacious to fit my family of 5. Accessible to I10.

Stay was great Wanted to get a Chardonnay and take to pool but when I asked about plastic cup instead of glass, the lady informed me no alcohol at pool because if kids. Went I went outside to pool it said no food or drink allowed around pool which leads me to believe she just made that up. Apparently she did No know what the sign said outside at the pool. She could have said no food or drink around pool which would have left me with a better impression of staff

The service was great the room was very Clean. Everything was excellent my family and I will be visiting again.

Hyatt Place has always been our go-to property for family vacations because we are able to comfortably fit our family of 5 in one room. I know hotel specifics vary from city to city, but this one fell short for us. The living space and amenities were really tight, and the breakfast options were very disappointing. When we went to breakfast the first morning, the offerings were like someone would put out if they didn’t know they were having company. Packets of oatmeal, a half carafe of milk, a few slices of bacon, and a few other random packaged items. I know hotel breakfasts have changed since covid, but Hyatt Place has always had amazing breakfast fare. We just found this disappointing. Now, the service and people were wonderful! There was a kind gentleman named Nate who greeted us on arrival and saw us on the second day, as well. He was so personable and sweet. All the staff were great!
