Holiday Inn Express & Suites Houston - Memorial City Centre, an IHG Hotel

Fantastic location, all the infrastructure brand new. Breakfast was great. Beds were super comfortable. The only thing I would say, shampoo and handwash could be a little lower so children of all ages could make use of them independently, but other than that, its the second time we stay there and its always been a wonderful service.

Nice hotel for family

I like: Property was clean, good location, my room was spacious. I didn't like: I booked for a two queen beds but then I was told they don't have rooms with two queen anymore so they put us in 1 King suite...had a tough time sleeping with kids. On our first day around 2 am there was a loud music blasting through the hall way and looks like it was from the reception. On our second day around 12:30 am the fire alarm (false alarm) went off multiple times that spoiled our sleep. With a family of 4 I wont be booking a room in Holiday inn for the fact that they wont be having room with 2 queen beds

We are a baseball family so we travel alot and stay in alot of hotels. I was disappointed in our stay at this hotel because i was charged 3 times for our room. To my understanding a deposit is required upon check-in. Which was okay with me because I've paid plenty of deposits for rooms. I was charged before I even checked in but I figured it was procedure so i was ok with it. I then check in after a baseball game and they asked for the deposit. I paid the deposit and he said he wasnt going to run it for more than the deposit plus $1. I then check my account and i was charged a total of $228.00 which included my deposit. So at this point I've been charged a total of $456.00. When we checked out they assured me the second charge would fall off as soon as i checked out. The following day I go to check my account and the $100 deposit has been dropped off but i now have another $228. charge. So as of today, 3 days after check out I have a total of $584.00 that has been drafted from my account for 1 night. I had high hopes for this hotel to be one of our regular stays. We will not be returning because it's absolutely ridiculous that i have to worry about money being drafted from my account randomly. I spoke to a "supervisor" who assured me she would send me an email detailing what charges she could see on her end and never received it. She was also confused as to why I was charged more than the $100 deposit. It was very disappointing overall.
