AC Hotel by Marriott Houston Downtown

The hotel appears newly renovated. The elevators were efficient, nice shower, comfortable bed. I like that there was a lobby bar open in the evenings. Unfortunately the location is an urban wasteland. The only shopping within the radius of a mile are food shops many of which are only open for lunch during the week. The nearest attraction might be the aquarium, that locals explained is really a restaurant with a large fish tank in the center. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel: I have nothing very complimentary to say about Houston. Our visit was for a family obligation. The city is not on our list of places to travel for pleasure.
