Hampton Inn Dallas-Irving-Las Colinas

Hello to whoever this may concern, my name is Oasha Robinson my husband and our family stayed at the Hampton Inn located at 820 W Walnut Hill Ln Irving, TX 75308. I’ll start with the pros. The stay was close and accessible to our family which was a 10 minute drive. It also was close to food and shopping centers!! Checking in was nice and sweet. Now for the cons, taking the elevator to our floor was fine as soon as we got off the elevator we were hit with heat. The AC wasn’t working on the 2nd floor of the hotel. We choose this location because it was close to family and they advertised they had pool access. We got our whole family dressed for the pool. We got downstairs and the pool was empty with some old nasty looked like rust with old water in the pool. The disappointment on our son face and having to calm him down from crying because he was so excited for the pool. Remind you that week texas hit a 111 degree Fahrenheit. That was very devastating as our 5 years loves the water. He was told we would swim everyday while we were out of town. There was no sign when we checked in that said no working pool. The employees didn’t even mention the pool was down. We had to spend more money to find a pool to help satisfy our kid. When we had already spent the money for this hotel because they advertised a pool! The second day there I woke up went downstairs to get breakfast. Well I was met with disappointment again. It was average nothing special. The cleaning staff / breakfast staff and morning desk clerk were personable and professional. The evening desk clerk seemed very uninterested in having my and my family as guests. He was super excited and talkative with the couple in front of me but then seemed very lackluster with me and my party. There was no explanation of why no shuttle service, no”Hey what brings you to our hotel or there are a lot of great local restaurants, I hope you enjoy your stay”.Maybe the 3 separate occasions I saw him to check in, purchase water then snacks he was having bad days. Again it was odd because he was chatting up someone else who was in front of me about trips to other countries and again seemed super engaged in the conversation. I even attempted to join in the banter and the guest was more personable. I can guarantee I will never stay at this location again based on my experience with him. It may seem minor, however being a frequent traveler for business and pleasure I know good service, I know what it means to be slighted and I know my dollars are valuable.
