Tru by Hilton Corpus Christi South Padre Island Dr

This is very good and safe place to stay, i was there with family and my kids enjoyed the games in reception area as well as very good staff and breakfast. i really enjoyed Tru!!

Upon arrival the check in staff was very nice, greeted and held a small conversation. The rooms were decent clean. the toilet paper wasn’t stocked so my second night I asked the front desk and she was ,I’m assuming cleaning? As she had gloves on. And you can tell she was annoyed that I asked. Because when I did she looked around and sighed out well I don’t have any here! I said well I really need some , I don’t have any rolls in my room. I did mention they were already used open when we got the room they weren’t full and new. So it’s not like we were just running through toilet paper . That’s what gave the 4 stars. The front entrance of the hotel was clean. Room was ok the pool reeked of chlorine that I had to sit outside before catching a headache. We even left the door for outside open to air it out. And it’s super slippery, even just walking through. They should get different flooring ? The people upstairs had their kids running marathons maybe? because they were full blown running hard it was so annoying! The walls are extremely thin I could hear my left neighbor screaming at all times! And they allow dogs which was a no for me they were barking so much and i guess cause it rained you could smell the hallway like dirty wet dog. It was so gross. However the breakfast was amazing and the outside patio was so nice they have a fire pit Sitting area, it was chilly so it made it so peaceful to sit and relax with some warmth

On our stay we could here on the floor above kids running at night and next door people arguing at 4 am could not sleep afterwards

Over all the hotel looks very nice and clean BUT for 180$ the room was so small not much storage to put your stuff the toilet is so loud their is no water pressure in the sink when you wash your hands brush your teeth it just trickles out. The bed was so hard I woke up constantly all night my back hurt so bad this morning. Breakfast was horrible . The little pancake machine they have took me 20 minutes for 4 pancakes . And they’re small and we’re not fully cooked and tasted rubbery. The breakfast people were so slow at restocking the batter. Not much options for breakfast at all . The pool is indoor and it was cold and the floor is so slippery both my husband and i almost fell from walking to the table to get a towel. A child slipped on the floor and hit the back of his head on the floor and he was walking not running. I would not stay here again. Although the property is pretty and colorful and has a pool table and family board games. Gentleman that checked us in was super nice.

We usually stay at this hotel 10 times a year for holidays and during summer time , it’s our go to as we stayed once 4 years ago and loved the staff ,easy check in and everything included but this time we had a really unpleasant stay , we unloaded everything lowered the ac and went out to family’s for new years when we got back the room was not cool and the ac was not working properly , given last time our mount wasn’t on properly they moved us to a different room but we had our 4 children with us including 2 babies and it was to much to move so we dealt with it , then having all of us shower before bedtime I went in the shower to see what I counted as 10-12 baby roaches all in the shower and ceiling of the shower I had to get the cup under the sink and rinse them down and clean the shower again , and to add to everything the sink in the bathroom wasn’t allowing water flow so just washing out hands that water took 1 hr to finally drain when we got up to brush our teeth it was just gross having all that water clogged in the bathroom sink , we will definitely be back because this is our favorite go to place and haven’t had another hotel in 4 years I just hope the next visit will be better then this one because if this is how it will continue to be I think we will just have to find a new spot

Apparently this is a PARTY CONCEPT hotel. There was a lobby “takeover” underway when we returned to the hotel after 9 pm by a large rowdy party of adult and children. The party quickly moved to the top floor which we swerve on and these guests were running, shouting and slamming doors for the next 1-1/2 hours. 2 phone calls to the front desk failed to address the issue. They party finally quoted around midnight. The hotel staff and manager Omar were unbothered by these events and told me the hotel concept was “gathering” and this was normal. NEVER AGAIN.

My family of four was switched from a double room to a single. Was told that there was a couch for my two small kids. When getting into the room there was just a single bed with no couch. When I went back to the front desk I was told I would have to make a complaint with Hilton. Horrible customer service. Look for another place to stay in town with better customer service.

Room didn’t have a safe or microwave. There were adult handprints (with who knows what fluid) on the headboard and small holes in the walls. Housekeeping slammed the doors up and down the hall in the afternoon, not great for our napping toddler. Breakfast had a decent selection and it was a close drive to the beach and aquarium.

I was extremely disappointed in my stay. I came to town to visit a family member in the hospital. After being at the hospital all day, I checked into my room late. I was tired and was looking forward to relaxing. When I got to my room, I noticed the restroom floor was dirty. It appeared it had not been swept and/or mapped. The room floors looked dirty as well. When we checked with the front desk about getting another room, she stated I'd have to pay an additional $25 to get moved. I expressed my confusion on why I would have to pay more money to get a clean room. I didn't receive a clear or satisfactory response.

Our room was very clean and the bed/linens were extremely comfortable. We loved that the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were in large squeezable dispensers rather than the tiny travel bottles. The only negative about our room was the condensation. The floor in our room and our family members' room had a wetness to it (in the bathroom and bedroom) from the air conditioning/humidity. I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed since it's just very hot outside, but it was the only downside to this room. We took advantage of the continental breakfast. The pancake maker was out of order so that was a letdown and I would have liked to see more options in terms of fresh fruit, but overall it was good. The staff was friendly and extremely accommodating with a scheduling conflict we had. We would stay here again.
