Aloft Corpus Christi

I got there early and was thankful for them to let me in early so I can nake a family wedding. It also reduced stress for me and my dog to check in early. Not hotels fault. Nor did I complain. I was annoyed by the people upstairs jumping around late at night.

Upon entering our room, it smelled of pet odor. I know this is a pet friendly hotel, but the smell was very off putting for someone who doesn’t own a dog. Also in the morning, my toddler discovered a roach on the bathroom floor.

The first night (Friday) they had live music til 12am in the lobby (we were on the second floor) after traveling all day we just wanted to rest to be fresh for our sons graduation on Saturday. It was crazy loud. I called down to front desk several times with no answer (probably couldn’t hear the phone) when I finally reached someone, he apologized and said that they’d turn it down, which they did, but it was still too loud to sleep so we just waited it out and got some sleep around midnight. The room smelled awful, like mildew and sulfur. I assume it was the air conditioning unit that was pretty loud and sounded like the wind and the ocean waves which was kinda like white noise and helped me sleep, but I don’t think it’s supposed to sound like that. The bottle of body wash was empty which meant we kept having to grab the one bar of soap from the sink and transfer it back and forth constantly. It’s a little thing, I know, but inconvenient. The staff was very nice and helpful. We were overlooking the pool and couldn’t heat a thing when there was screaming kids in there. That was nice. Bed was comfy. It was a good stay except for the first night. I wish I would’ve known that there was a nightclub atmosphere on particular nights, we would’ve asked for a room higher up or booked a different hotel.
