The facility was wonderful with easy access to the beach, pool and restaurant. Loved that there’s a Starbucks on the lobby with a small shop to purchase immediate necessities. My family and I will now have this hotel in mind every time we want to visit south padre!

As a Hilton Honors member, I’ve never had such a terrible experience before. There truly is a first for everything.
1. Arrival was 6:30- 3:30 hours passed check in. My room was still not ready. We did get another room available.
2. Elevators were not working, notice was placed on one elevator and had only one functional all weekend
3. Friday stocked fridge with food/Snacks for my 8 year old daughter. After pool closed 11pm - went back got ready bath time/Bed time and as I made a snack for her, the food, drinks, cut fruit were hot. Fridge was not working and I lost all the groceries I purchased!
4. We drove to get fast food, kid was starving! Came back my husband let the from desk know. The hospitality was unbelievably bad. Michelle was at the counter, she was so rude at this point it’s well passed midnight and she said, “well I can send maintenance to the room, I’ll make sure he knocks loud since it’s late not sure what time he will make it”. My husband was so upset and said ma’am we just lost all sour groceries and had to drive to get a meal for ourselves. We are tired and ready for bed, do you mind scheduling something for 12 pm (Saturday). He asked to speak with manager, and no manager available at night only morning.
We went about our day Saturday- no fridge, no call back from manager…
Check our Sunday still no fridge, no manager and they would not even honor a late check out for us after all the trouble.
I would appreciate a call back!

I was very disappointed since there were no extra privilege's for being a Diamond member. I also had rented a room for my family next door and they had an awesome view, breakfast, and reasonable priced bar.

This was our first time in South Padre and I wanted to select a hotel that wasn’t over crowded and that could cater to a family of 4. Upon arrival, we did have to wait a couple of hours for our room to be ready but that’s okay…we were a few hours early for check-in anyway. We stayed in one of the pool side suites and it was a very large room. A bit dated and basic but for the most part, clean. The property is nestled right on the beach and there are a couple beach bars and restaurants nearby.
We were not fans of the restaurant at the hotel “On The Border”. We had one of these where I grew up and I remember the food being way better. They are fine for breakfast but I would recommend going to some other locally owned restaurants.

There was a sewage smell near the main elevators upon arrival, but it was being taken care of and the smell was gone that same day. The pool was gorgeous and I was so glad we chose the Hilton vs the Mariott my kids originally wanted. I wish the Hilton had more eating options-On the Border is a bit blah and Barry's Bistro (formerly the Lookout) was a bust. Sad that the bar at the pool closed so early.
