Hyatt Place Sioux Falls South

Loved this hotel! Would stay here time and time again. New, huge rooms, super clean. Friendly check-in. Nice continental breakfast. Love the deck off the back looking over the water. Walking path is right there, too. We stayed at the StayBridge Sioux Falls (which was awesome!), but for a little bit cheaper, this one is way better. Great for families with small children (clean and spacious), alone (safe), or romantic date night (deck off the bar area, light a fire on a chilly night). Bathrooms: 2 lights and decent lighting. We had windows for natural light and blackout roller shades. Full length mirror. Safe. Drawers and a closet for hanging clothes. Would be a GREAT place for an extended stay. Bed: soft and comfy. Floors: hard with a rug. So clean!

Would like to see a full service bar. Dining options need upgrades. The mac n cheese was like a kids meal ans overpriced. The fryer was down so some menu items were unavailable.

Hyatt Places are always at the top of my favorite hotels. I can't always afford them, but if I can, I book with them. This stay was no different. We only stayed overnight on our road trip out west, and it was a great place to stop. It was super clean, modern, and had an awesome lake view with access to the lake and trail around the lake. They had gas fireplaces on their back patio as well for those cooler evenings and a bar to enjoy those drinks outdoors. Our room (2 Queen Beds) was really spacious with plenty of storage and places to put luggage. As a family of 4, we appreciated the extra sofa bed in the room so the kids didn't have to share a bed. Breakfast was fantastic. We travel a lot and have stayed at many Hyatts, and this was the nicest breakfast setup I have ever seen. Plenty of seating and food was delicious. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Sioux Falls area. It won't let you down.

Very nice. Had a family above us that had children who were constantly scooting the chairs on the deck and we understood, we’ve had 4 kids ourselves, but when they started again at 6:30am, yikes! Nothing your staff could have done about it.

Every summer my daughter zand I drive up to Sioux Falls to visit my grandchildren, and we always stay at Hyatt Place. I know we will always have a clean and comfortable room, a good breakfast, and wonderful facilities. This year, I had cobbled together a four-night stay using reward nights and a separate reservation using Orbitz. I had hoped for two queen beds, but we were only able to get one night with two beds. The wonderful staff at our check in worked some magic and got us two queen beds for our entire stay. I wouldn't stay anywhere else at this point. As an added bonus, we had a view of the pond from our window and there were about four mated pairs of Canadian geese, three with goslings, that we saw every morning.

To be honest, the quality of the room was exceptional. The hotel was beautiful. The use of the barn wood on the back wall of reception was stunning. The temperature of the room was uncomfortable. With that said, I have to say I was unsafe as there was a person using the stairwell during the night. The stairwell doors should have been closed as all times. This persons presence continued throughout the night and into the early morning. When I was swimming a man was outside looking in, then the same man was later looking in the window of the door to the swimming pool, then about 30 minutes later when I left the pool the same person came out of nowhere and followed me down the hallway. It was unnerving. I checked the Sioux Falls police data regarding criminality in the place. I almost all categories, the data was increased, while in other cities it had decreased. My advise is to "beef up" your security and your front desk protocols. If the personnel need to leave, they should have someone cover while they leave for a smoke. Also, having children and family members in the lounge while on duty may need to be addressed.

Arrival and check in were a bit hectic at the front desk with only 1 worker and bus load plus vehicles of sport kids and parents. He did his best and stayed calm. They knew they were all coming and should have planned to have help. He was also supposed to run the bar and food offerings. It was packed but again he kept things moving all by himself. But more help on a Saturday night was really needed with the hotel full. I stopped by the desk a couple times during the day and no one was ever around. To check out I had to write a note and leave my room card without checking on my bill. Not the best way. Room: I paid extra for a room lakeside, it didn't disappoint. The room was clean with a great layout. Huge television and great shower. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean !! Breakfast: Here there were some problems. Others and I checking in had been told breakfast ran till 930 on weekdays which was not correct. It was 9. We were treated rudely by arriving shortly before 9 and at 9 closed off the door without us even getting silverware, juice or even hot food that had been available. Also, they made an announcement as they cleaned someone's left dishes. Of where dishes were to be put and did so rudely ! Location is great knowing the area and could make my day plans. Close to many places to eat within short driving distance. Grocery Store close by as well as gas stations. Walmart and Walgreens were also close for driving to.

We had traveled across 2 states for 5 days sleeping in a different hotel every night we had yet to be excited to check into another one. After driving 5 hours across SD to our last hotel we were ready for rest and relaxation. From the moment we walked through the front door we were greeted by some of the friendliest people. They worked around the facility like it was their own home not just a job they reported to. Ami was great going out of her way offering activities sheets and crayons for my small kids and in the next step making me a couple of lattes!! The room was beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. Loved having the lake view and a pull out couch in the room too. It was so nice we decided to spend an extra day i. Sioux falls checking out the zoo and water park. We are now a Hyatt family and WILL be back! Thanks Ami and staff!
