SpringHill Suites by Marriott Sioux Falls

The room itself was ok with the exception of a red-stain on the carpet by the bathroom, as well as the thinnest windows which resonated all the cars/motorcycles racing down the streets outside of the property (ALL NIGHT LONG, BTW). I've stayed at the airport in Sioux Falls & it wasn't nearly as noisy as what we experienced Saturday night. My real problems had to do with the inability of the staff to call out parents of unruly children. When we left for supper, there was quite a few 10-15 year old boys who were being obnoxiously noisy. When we returned almost 3 hours later, they were still in the lobby. Shortly thereafter, they decided that racing up and down the halls--all 4 floors of the property--was a good idea. Stomping & yelling/screaming at each other the whole time. After the third time they went storming by our room, I yelled at them to knock it off. I called the front desk and the guy that answered told me the boys' parents were sitting in the lobby & that he'd ask them to get the kids under control. It worked for about two hours, then the kids were back at it, this time with their phones & probably a speaker for as loud as it was. Seriously, where are the parents AND what's their problem?!? Why would the staff put up with it. Give the parents the boot--maybe then they'd figure out that there are societal standards they need to live by!!

We stayed in the handicapped accessible room because a family member who uses a wheelchair. The room was dirty! The bed had blood and yellow stains on it from whomever was there previously. Called the front desk and was told there was no housekeeping and to change the bedding ourselves. No bedding was provided for the sofa bed, so called the front desk for more bedding. Sofa pullout was hard as a rock. Hair was on the shower floor with stained shower curtain. Overall, a gross experience! No discount for all the hastles. Skipped breakfast and apologized profusely to my family for staying there. There was a nice front desk lady who appoligized. This hotel needs much better housekeeping services!

A Little Noisy with some screaming kids that could not get their way. could have had a few more items for the breakfast time in the morning.

Amazing place for our family of 6. The Trundle bed was great, and breakfast included!

Nice accommodations for a large family with clean facilities. Breakfast could have included some better hot options, but it did the job.

The first room our family stayed smelled like cigarette smoke. The second room had a poorly working air conditioning system. I expressed my concerns to the front desk staff and they were unconcerned.

This was a great place to stay. The rooms were very clean, as was the entire hotel. The kids enjoyed swimming too.

Hotel is fine, but after a full day of softball tournament the kids wanted to swim. When we checked in Ron told me the pool was open until 11:00 pm. Kids went down and came back up saying the key didn't work, so I sent them down with a different key. They then came back to the room saying that key didn't work. I told them to go back down and ask Ron at the front desk to let them in. Ron told the girls that he couldn't do that because he couldn't leave his front desk. (btw, the pool is about a 20 second walk away from the front desk) I sent the kids down to the lobby for something and they came back up...guess what, Ron wasn't at his counter, he was outside!! When we checked in that afternoon Ron wasn't at his counter either, he was back in the breakfast area. If you want to close/lock the pool at 10 or 10:30 pm that is fine, just don't advertise or tell us at check-in that it is open until 11:00 pm. And when we try 3 times to get in and ask for help getting in, don't reply with a lie that you can't leave your counter to open the pool door. Dishonesty has left a bitter taste on this stay.

The property overall is clean and acceptable but in need of maintanence. The suite we checked into, the bathroom door lock was broken so we asked for another suite given we had young kids with us. The second suite they gave us also had the same issue ( no way to keep the sliding door on bathroom shut unless someone stood there guarding the door - a major inconvenience but also safety concern with a toddler). The day we checked out, the elevators were broken and we had to carry all our luggage down from the third floor. The staff did not even acknowledge this or offer any assisstance ( just signs on elevator that it is broken!)
