Kelly Inn & Suites Mitchell South Dakota

Our stayed at the Kelly Inn was our first night of our family vacation on our way to Yellowstone, Rushmore, Grand Tetons, and Custer. Overall it was a fine hotel. The room was fine and location was great -- very close to the Corn Palace. The breakfast was great and very busy. Our one concern was the pool. It was super dark in the pool with very little lighting. The pool also looks like it needed a litle cleaning attention. Overall, it was a fine stay.

Slightly outdated but very clean. Super pet friendly and welcomed our dog with no pet fees. No pet smells in any place. Beds were too firm for us. But overall a good place to stay overnight for a family with a pet.

This place looks pretty good from the outside and in the lobby area however, my family had two rooms on first floor and they are both kind of awful! Torn carpet, bubbled ceiling from water damage, cracks in ceiling finish, musty, stained chairs in both rooms - sort of an unclean sensation in both rooms. Definitely wouldn’t stay here again, trying to figure out how to sleep tonight and just hit the road tomorrow.

Mack or Matt attended to an issue we came across immediately and was a great host all evening for me and my children for our stay. Thank you!

Check in was fast and simple, very cute hotel. The pullout bed in our suite is not great and the sheets are too small for it, so i have one semi-unhappy kid, but otherwise its very nice.

The location was excellent, and the hotel was quiet, even though full. The breakfast was also good. However, the cleanliness of the room was disappointing. There was mildew in the shower and a thick layer of dust over the vents. We both woke coughing and congested which cleared after we left the hotel. There were greasy handprints from a small child on the mirrored closet door, and no soap, coffee cups, or coffee condiments left in the room. It appeared as if the room was only partially serviced.

We stayed in a nice sized “family suite” with two queens and a sleeper sofa. Good accommodations at a good price

Unfortunately we did not call the hotel to confirm pool was in workong order. Should be updated on webaite and Hotels.com filters. Room was ovciously a former amoking room, horrible. Got new room, slightly better. Juat dissapointing for grandkids after long day on car to have no pool then stinky room. Was ready to check out and get another jotel in town. Stagf was very good and facility was well kwpt except smoke amell.

The staff was friendly & helpful. But the first room they put us in hadn’t been cleaned, however the dirty bed had been made. The room they moved us to was better. But still not sure bed skirts, comforters, or bed spread hardly ever get cleaned. The pool water was cloudy and clearly in need of cleaning/checking. Then it appeared like staff had moved in or was letting their friends/family stay. At the pool they had brought in camping chairs, a speaker to play rap music, glass alcohol containers, and a beer pong table. The halls were loud until late at night, but it was the staff/their guests running around & loud. We use to love staying here, but it has went down hill and unfortunately I wouldn’t stay there again.

The darin in the tub was broke so could not drain with holding. Fire alarm 2nd went off 3 different times last time for 3 hours or so. Called the front desk first time with no answer so left hotel for 30 mins then came back. 2nd called and they said they werent sure what was going on. Then the third time which was 2:10 am just tried to sleep thru it because was annoyed by that time. Normally have had good luck with the hotel but only face i reconized was kals when we checked in everyone else was new. Not to mention think one of the workers wife or gf and kid were there both nights just hanging around all night and one of the workers had headphones on so no wonder why they had no idea whag was going on. Very dissappointed and actually left a night early. Hoping for some componsation or some sort of reimbursment.
