Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston Airport

We really enjoy our stay the staff was very friendly and the room was very clean my kids enjoy the pool .

The place was nice and for the most part clean. The bathroom in our suite had some kind of questionable substance splattered on the wall and the pool area and chairs could use a good sweep. Our room was a suite with a separate living room and we had 7 people so 3 slept in the living room. The air conditioner only let out hot air in there so they were very hot. We told the front desk and they sent a maintenance person in and said it was fixed but it was still coming out hot. We had a big issue with the breakfast staff. Both days we were there the woman was rude to most of our group. There was also a gentleman that made part of our group stop making their breakfast claiming they were doing it wrong but he just wanted them gone, they weren’t doing anything wrong. They were being quiet and waiting patiently but neither staff wanted them anywhere near the food area. It appeared they don’t have many kids stay there at all. The only other children we saw(also well behaved) were treated the same way. They would see a child come off the elevator and immediately start standing guard and treating them poorly.

Perfect setup with 2 bedrooms for family

We have a large family and little kids so finding a hotel room that fits all of us is a challenge. This hotel had the perfect suite, breakfast for everyone, a grill so we could hang out by the pool for dinner, and a nice workout room so this momma could start her morning out right. It was great!

Took 1.5 hours to check in, all while our family of 7 were waiting. Hotel had no record of reservation. Check in lady wasn’t friendly. Took her 1.5 hrs to rebook one room that was prepaid days ago. Hotel did not accommodate us with a crib. Baby had to sleep on the floor because we were afraid she’d fall off the bed. Hotel is pet friendly so I and baby started an allergic reaction while waiting.

I lived the fact that this property was per friendly so that our whole family could travel. The 2 bdrm rooms have THE perfect setup for a family which has almost become a necessity when we travel. The breakfast in the morning was substantial and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My ONLY complaint was the carpet in the rooms. It was really worn out and strained. Looked like the hallway carpet was relatively new so wondered if the property was in the process of addressing.

The room was just okay. It was very spacious, but extremely outdated. The couches were so stained and dirty that the family didn’t even want to sit on them. The TV remote did not work. The real problem in the hotel was their housekeeping service. They gave us 3 towels for a family of 4 and expected us to use these for 5 days. I requested service twice (as they say you can request more than the routine service of every 5 days), but these never happened. Finally after calling and calling they agreed to bring more towels, but the hotel worker did not want to take my old towels. She asked me if I had a bag for them? Ummm..no. The pool never had towels either but they kept advertised shelving out for them. I saw a patron standing outside of the washing room on the first floor practically begging for more towels. We ended up buying our own toilet paper at the nearby store and I thought more than once about getting some towels! This is ridiculous when this hotel is meant to be a short stay for families. I will likely steer clear of this hotel in the future.

The breakfast was pretty good. The kids loved the waffles. The trashcans in the room are extremely small so we had to keep asking the front desk for more trash bags. The only downside is that no one cleaned our room after a 4 night stay. When you have toddlers the kitchen floor can get messy. Overall, it was a good stay.

The two guys serving breakfast were fantastic. They greeted is with enthusiasm and Gladly cleaned up when our kids spilled a drink. Give them a raise!!
