Fairfield Inn by Marriott Myrtle Beach North

Last minute travel for a family death on Labor day. We figured we would get the room between the ice machine and the elevator but we did not. We got an excellent room with a great check-in lady(forgot the name, the unsung heroes) and great breakfast with the breakfast attendant being one of the nicest friendliest ladies I have ever met. A real treasure for your facility.

I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort and cleanliness of the room I was visiting family and I wasn't in the room that long, but the time I was I was very comfortable. The breakfast was really good and well supplied. Will visit again.

I will say i had a good time qith my kids but i didnt realize that the hotel had a 20 dollar holding fee and nothing was said about it in any of the descriptions or receipts i got after booking through yall i had everything but that planned out. I qould say for future customers make sure to have a better relationship with the hotels you're working with and some how place what fees they may have for the customers stay. Other then that my stay with my kids was good

Indoor pool was amazing for kids.

The hotel was not fancy or luxurious, but very clean and comfortable. Close to Tanger Outlet and Ripley's Aquarium, perfect place for family vacation.

When we arrived at the hotel the door was ajar and I thought nothing of it. We checked the room to make sure it was empty and found that it was and felt okay about spending the night. The next morning I was looking for one of our key cards and thought maybe one of our kids dropped it outside the door so I opened the door to the hallway and there was a man there close to the peephole and reaching towards the door handle. He turned immediately and ran down the staircase that was opposite our door. I was stunned and called the front desk and told them I just caught someone looking in our peephole and they hung up on me immediately. I called again a few times and finally they answered but my son screamed because he was afraid and they hung up again. My husband who was loading the car when this happened told the person at the front desk about this instance and they said it was just cleaning staff - who were on that floor at the time but on the other side of the floor from our room and I’ve never had cleaning staff run from me. The man was not in work appropriate clothing. We left feeling very unsettled and afraid. I sent them a message detailing the experience and they did not respond, I got the receipt shortly after sending the message but it’s been over a week and still no response. I’m thankful nothing happened, but I’m alarmed by the complete lack of action, no response now and when I was on their property, alone in the room with my children that they hung up on me twice.

The staff at the desk were wonderful. I was dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the room. When I walked in I noticed an old musty smell. I think it was the old carpet. The family complained that the bed set felt damp. Otherwise the mattress itself was pretty comfortable.
