Holiday Inn Columbia - Downtown, an IHG Hotel

Our room was great except the view of the parking garage... Young man who checked us in was wonderful. Parking garage was very confusing on how to get back into the hotel. And I definitely did not like the alley we had to walk between to get to the hotel especially at night. A few homeless were sitting in there and it felt a little unsafe. Glad my whole family was with me.

I will never stay at this hotel again. I paid for a “city view” room, which they did not put me in. They ended up moving us to a city view room, which was literally the exact same room, just 2 floors above. It was tiny and cramped, and not a city view. We had a nice view of the roof of the parking structure. Aside from that, the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. The tv in our room was supposed to have a cromecast, which it did, but it did not work at all. It was not operational error, nothing worked. The tv also turned on in the middle of the night on its own, multiple times, prompting me to review my stay in the hotel. I couldn’t unplug the tv, because they hide the cables behind an impenetrable box… so we had to deal with the stupid tv just turning on of its own accord all night long. Then in the morning my kids were trying to watch tv while we packed up, and the tv kept switching to a screen that was prompting us to check out, several hours before checkout time. All in all, this hotel sucks and I will never stay here again. I expected much better for the cost, and it is just lacking in so many ways.
