Hampton Inn Stroudsburg/Poconos

My kids enjoyed the pool which was warm! We all were satisfied with the breakfast they offer!

A few things happen while I was there that never happen before. One was we lost Internet a few times due to weather and that's understandable. 2. The staff that had to do the breakfast service was very rude to me and my family. 3. I was for a maid to come in the room and like give me fresh towels and straighten up the room they knock on my door I ask what I needed done and all I got was towels and they left. 4 I walk in the room and I always check it just to make sure the room is good and one of the lightbulb was broken and I had to wait for a while for them to come and fix it. I have gone to that hotels many times and never experienced this ever.

Hotel was nice and clean. Location was a few blocks offf main strip. With lots of options for food and sight. The pool was a nice size for kids. Not very deep. 5 feet. I didn’t do breakfast since Dunkin’ donut was a block away. The only thing was hotel was booked to capacity so the hot water ran out in our room till the next morning. Besides that it was a nice hotel.

We did enjoy our stay at this hotel! It was close to family so it was perfect!

Service was good and the hotel was conveniently located to many restaurants within walking distance. Staff was friendly and quickly remedied an issue of sending us to a room that was out of service. They provided extra towels when asked. The kitchen staff that prepared breakfast were very welcoming at 6am and prepared a very nice continental breakfast. The pool was clean and the kids enjoyed swimming. The only downside is that the carpets and room floors were not the cleanest and could use a refresh.

We are a fan of Hampton Inn. We stayed many nights for the indoor pools and the breakfast. This stay was a bit disappointing for two main reasons. There were swimming lessons for kids on the day of our check in! Access to the pool is a big part of our stay and having swimming instructions at a hotel pool is not fair to other customers. The other reason is the bias negative treatment of the kitchen staff. While the breakfast staff on the 24th Feb was very friendly and helpful (a Chinese and an African American woman), the older white lady working on the 25th was mean and intentionally disregard us. That was not her general personality because we saw how her demeanor changed toward people of similar culture and ethnicity. Another minor issue was the shortage of towels in the room. We are a guest of 4 but was given 3 towels. It's not hard, but inconvenient to ask front desk for extra towels. I hope Hampton Inn would improve in these regards.

I have stayed in this hotel with my family once in the past and have had a pleasant experience with the staff. So, I went ahead and booked another stay here expecting the same level of experience. Instead, I was met with a very unfriendly front desk staff member at check in. She was very rude, not very welcoming, made no eye-contact and appeared to be bothered with working that day. At dinner, my family and other families that we booked our stay with were having dinner in the dining area and all of our children were watching America’s Funniest Home Videos. They were laughing and having a great time and then a child of one of the staff members came and changed the channel to watch football. I knew it was a staff members child because he was hanging out behind the front desk. I asked the front desk a couple of times if they can change it back and both the staff member and the staff member’s child pretended to not know how to change the channel back. This was appalling to me and I have never encountered a situation like this. I have worked in the service industry and this to me was the worst of the worst. Do yourself a favor and stay at the other Hampton Inn a few miles away.

The noise level was ridiculous!!!! We asked if there was a floor without kids they said no!! The kids we’re running up and down the hall all night babies in the hallway crying!! Staff said it was President weekend so we could hit live our room. We will have to rethink visiting this place again…there was no order with breakfast people (kids) had there hands in everything no supervision

The hotel was overall a good value at the discounted rate. Our Queen sized bed was a bit on the small side. It was very noisy, we could constantly hear kids in the rooms near us yelling. The toiletries were of good quality. The breakfast was ok. At check in the front desk folks are having a discussion about how we can only get a queen bed because we bought at a discounted rate, not cool.
