Staybridge Suites East Stroudsburg - Poconos, an IHG Hotel

My family and I chose this Staybridge due to good experiences from prior stays at Staybridge properties and due to the good reviews for this Staybridge. We also found it to be conveniently located near the trail systems off of I-80 near the Delaware Watergap National Recreation Area. The stay was clean and comfortable. Staff accommodated us with some extra pillows and blankets. Breakfast was basic but included with the stay. We didn't go hungry. We also brought our puppy, I believe it was an extra $50 for him to stay with us. There is a dog walk area and clean up bags to the right side of the hotel. The are only two minor draw backs I noted. 1. The shower floor surface is pretty slippery when showering and there were no handle bars in the shower so watch your step. 2. The elevator sounds like it needs servicing, it made some unusual noises and shudders and was slow to move floor to floor. I did let the desk know, so hopefully it will get checked out. Other than those two items a very nice stay, with helpful staff.

The property is safety for kids

Generally clean, but very outdated. Very old furniture, scuff marks on walls etc. Front desk rep was extremely rude, giving nasty looks at my family. We will not be coming back.

It is as just we needed to relax and decompress from moving away from our childhood home!

The AC was extremely loud when active and my friend and I had throat irritation and which led to constant coughing while in room but wasn't as bad when we weren't in the room. The elevator seemed like it would break down any moment! I hate to say it but I would never recommend this hotel for any of my family or friends!

Do not recommend staying at Staybridge. Customer service is awful. Room we were given was not what we reserved. Given a queen bed instead of a king. Mike at the front desk should not even be working in customer service because he doesn’t know how to interact with people. He quickly dismissed us and said there was nothing they could do and it was Hotels.com fault and said this “was a lie” it was not the room we requested when clearly states that on the reservation. So my family basically had no choice but to sleep in a room that did not accommodate us comfortably. My daughter slept on a pull out couch that looked like it was put out for disposal. Hotels.com we’re able to help us and make this unpleasant situation more accommodating for us but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and wouldn’t go back even if it were free or the last place on earth! Stay away, you’ll thank me later.

The indoor pool is freezing and unusable. False advertising claiming that they have a heated pool. Also due to family emergency had to . which was allegedly heated is way to cold to actually use and therefore false advertising to believe that the pool is actually

We stayed for one night and we were very pleased. We asked for a short walk to the room (spouse is handicapped) and the young woman at the front desk changed it even though they already had a room set aside. Ended up with a large 2 bed handicapped room. This lady could not have been more helpful in many ways. Our adult daughter found a small spot on her comforter but the room seemed otherwise quite clean. We did have a plumbing problem . My family was sleeping so the morning gentleman at the front desk gave me a plunger discreetly in a plastic bag. Problem solved! He too was very personable as was the lady in the breakfast room and the lady with a cleaning cart. In short, everyone was unusually pleasant.
