Crowne Plaza Portland-Lake Oswego, an IHG Hotel

My daughter and I had a comfortable stay with Crown Plaza. Our stay made it easy to meet up with family for dinner after our girl time at Bridgeport area!

For the first time in many years of staying here, the hotel seemed to reflect its age. Our room had obvious signs of repaired water damage and the TV didn’t work. (Maintenance tried to fix it twice and then seemed to give up.) Staff was friendly and helpful as always. Our room was above the pool and there was a lot of noise, but it’s sweet to hear kids playing together. And things quieted down well ahead of the 10 p.m. pool closure. We’ll be back again.

Front desk staff very friendly. Common areas clean and decorated nicely. Our only real issue was the noise..got only 2 hours of sleep due to multiple dogs in rooms within the vicinity of ours whining and scratching at the doors most of the night. I did call the front desk at 130am to discuss this, and did notice the front desk staff come to our hallway to investigate the noise for about a minute..but the owner had taken the dog out prior to this. An hour later it started again and last most of the night. The room next to us also had several children being very loud late into the night..the walls seem oddly thin for a larger hotel. I didnt want to keep bothering the front desk due to the noise, so sucked it up. Dont plan on coming back though, too many pets around making noise!

The staff was great - especially those in the bar/dining. Down-side was the beds are bad. I thought maybe it was just me/mine, but the family members that I was there with also said both of their rooms also had crappy broken down mattresses.

This hotel is decent enough. For us the best part was the location and setting. Feels like it is in a park! Quick access to I-5, and close to Washington Square Mall. Easy few minutes into Lake Oswego, which is a charming place with lots of restaurants and interesting shops to visit. We were in a room that has the ability to become an adjoining room. Of our three nights there, there were families in the next room with noisy children. We also noticed that there was a thick layer of dust on the top of the headboard which explained allergies bothering us. The location makes up for almost everything. We are IHG loyal, might choose this hotel again, most likely though, look for other IHG hotels in the area. Also agree with other reviews, this is not an urban hotel, drop the $7/day parking fee, it feels like a cash grab.

I imagine the facilities are fine. Our issue with this hotel relates to the handling of my husbands need to cancel 2 nights (due to a family medical emergency)after he spent his first night there.

Friendly staff and nice rooms. The kids lived the indoor/outdoor pool.
