Best Western Newberry Station

Awful rooms on the old side of the hotel for the same price and the new clean side. The carpet had dried up stuff stuck to it and my kids socks were black after barely walking around in the room. We asked to switch and they said no. No bathroom counter, just a sink, and no wall AC unit.

I don’t love writing bad reviews, but from the minute my son and I walked in, it was a mess. The woman checking us in was not kind to the point my 7 year old said, “mommy why was she mad at us?” I told him to look at the pool, and we could go swimming but the pool was green. There was a smell in the lobby but, I just thought it was an older hotel. However, when we were walking to our room, there was a distinct smell of smoke. My son said “mommy it smells like smoke” and began to cough. We went to the room which, was dirty and also smelled of smoke. At that point I called Expedia because it was so uncomfortable of a situation I didn’t want to go back to the front desk and risk my child seeing any type of argument. I called Expedia and we left the premises within minutes of arriving. Expedia contacted the hotel, who refused to issue a refund. I contacted Best western’s customer service who tried to help, but no answer. Th he hotel stayed I needed to call the manager but the manager won’t be in for another two days. I would not recommend staying here.
