Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springfield - Dayton Area, an IHG Hotel

Overall the stay was good. One reason I can't say great is because it is under going remodeling which is a good thing. Our rooms didn't seem to be updated yet. We had one suite and one standard room. We stayed for 4 nights and the beds were never made up in the room with the suites. I wasn't staying in that room. I wasn't told from the family members that were staying in that room that the beds were not being made up daily until the last night. I did not address it with the hotel. I am sure they would have rectified the issue had they been told. The employees that I had interaction with were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again when visiting family in Springfield.

The hotel is undergoing renovation so some disappointment could be anticipated. A major disappointment was how staff responded to a fire alarm. There was no visible organization so customers had to try to figure out on their own whether or not evacuation was necessary. Thankfully, the alarm was false, but I will not likely stay in this property again when I return to Springfield for future family events.

The property is renovating, which is fine, but it would have been nice to know. I had my children with me and they wanted to swim. We had no idea it was closed. Also, our towels were never replenished after the room was cleaned. The service desk was very nice about giving us towels.
