Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Stes Port Clinton-Catawba Island, an IHG Hotel

Our keys didn’t work and the person at front desk suggested us to wait until the next day, we weren’t the only ones experiencing this issue, around 10:30 pm the fire alarm started ringing and nobody was able to tell us anything, according to the front desk manager the was an electrical issue, nothing to worry about but they never informed us about it. There was people scared and kids crying.

For the price we paid for a 2 day weekday stay, I was not impressed with the facility nor the amenities it had to offer. We picked this hotel due to high ratings for families but they didnt live up to that satisfaction rate in my opinion. 1st red flag was the lady during check-in was super rude after a 5 hr drive with 2 kids, i would've appreciated a genuine welcome greeting. Then, on inspection of the room, was there was black mold on the ceiling tiles in the bathroom. Trash along the bed from previous guests. The room it self just smelled. Pool was extremely cold along with a side pool ladder being broken. Floor is slanted by the main stairs and numerous people fell while WALKING to try to get in the ice bath due to the slickness of the tiles/floor. The stairs going from the 2nd level to the 1st look as though theyre never mopped, liquids spilled along the tiles and just tracked through. Breakfast staff were not friendly especially if you have kids with you! Food was always running out and some like cereals, oatmeal, apple juice were never restocked. The only good thing to say is the location of the hotel is super convenient to lots of markets, ferry lines and other attractions.

We had a short stay here in Port Clinton on our family Vacay. Holiday Inn Express here was convenient and located close to everything. Valerie at the front desk was super sweet and helpful to all our needs. The view at the back of hotel at sunset is beautiful in the summer.

We just needed a quiet place to stay while visiting family. It was perfect. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was very comfortable.
