We choose a room with the city view because we didn’t plan to stay in the room much. There are outdoor restaurants and a bar along the strip. It was fun for a Tuesday night! We didn’t eat at the restaurant inside the hotel but down the street. The bed was comfortable room was nice. We will stay there again. The strip is where to stay if you don’t have under age kids.

I think the hotel is a nice boutique hotel however I don’t think we are the clientele they appeal too. The bar next to the restaurant was very loud when we checked in, and led us to believe if we wanted a quiet dinner that it wasn’t going to be there. And, Not sure if it was just our room but it was very clearly tailored to one thing- which wasn’t sleeping— if you know what I mean. We had room 21 - it was very small- barely enough room for the bed. The art on the walls was very very suggestive. (We are not prudish- we live in Ann Arbor and actually recognized the artist from the art fair - but we’re not prepared for a room full of naked women’s bodies artfully presented with black shadow lines resembling a zebra. Also there was a neon sign above the bed which didn’t turn off. My husband said you could probably unplug it- but because I didn’t find where to do this it was on all night right above my head and I didn’t sleep very well. Everything was very clean, the quality of the bed, linens, decor was at the boutique level we were looking for but the style was not as expected and it is all good if they are going for that kind of adult only clientele but they should clearly say that on their site. My husband said he read a review that a family with children were turned away after they had reservations because they didn’t allow children. — If you don’t set expectations you are setting yourself up for failure and I do want to see them be successful. The downtown needs it.

We stayed two nights with two elementary aged kids. This hotel is not full of wild kid-centered activities (like a Kalahari). Instead, we played chess, ate at Oh Taco, and enjoyed the local shops and sites. The staff made us all feel welcomed. We spent a lot of time in the room because of poor weather. We were comfortable, cozy, and enjoyed our stay.
