Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Columbus OSU

I have never been so upset and I have never been rude to anyone at their work but I was disgusted with the way this front desk handled a situation that was their fault. I made the reservation for a king room with a pullout couch over a month in advance of our trip. When we arrived it was later at night and we were exhausted. There was no pull out couch and nowhere for either of my kids to sleep! They basically told us, “Too bad,” and we shouldn’t use 3rd party vendors because this happens. We then had to drive back to the city to my daughter’s dorm and when we asked again for some help, they gave us 2 extra pillows and 2 thin blankets to put on the dirty floor for our 15 year old to sleep on. No apologies. We called for over an hour trying to find another hotel to leave and go to but nothing was available. I will never stay in that place again. Horrible customer service and none of us slept. Stayed at the Embassy Suites the next night that was lovely.

Our family of 5 stayed for one night & it was a good experience. The front desk staff were friendly & helpful. The hotel’s system was down due to the global Microsoft outage but check-in was still fast & easy. We overslept for breakfast but the staff was nice enough to open it for us to get what was left & they gave my kids breakfast bags that had their favorite cereal in it. The bed was a lil firmer than I prefer, but other than that I have no complaints & would stay here again.

Liked-Front desk staff was great. Beds comfy. Room clean. Parking free. Staff quieted noisy unsupervised kids. Breakfast lots of choices.Parking area clean. Disliked- Tons of kids. Seemed to be a baseball team. They were running around outside, darting out between cars. Throwing a baseball too close to crs. No adults outside with them! Adults sat in the lobby talking while kids were running down the halls pounding on doors. Breakfast staff on first day not friendly ar all. At 9am the oatmeal was cold and very little there. I asked if there would be more and i got a very unfriendly NO from a lady. While getting batter for a waffle i spilled a little in the drain. A man working there came over and rudely said, "I am 'bout to pull this" Hardly any toilet paper in room but was replaced promptly when asked.

The property and room was clean, quiet spacious for family. We enjoyed and had a restful night.

Just one thought. As I have poor knees the height of the commode can be a challenge. I did not ask for any consideration so the hotel is blameless but if the commodes are usually low, (perhaps for little kids), a sturdy grab bar would be welcome.

Everything was great just not really any good option on food for basic people with kids without being almost all sugar.

I was distressed to hear hallway chatter in a language I neither speak nor understand. They did nothing wrong, but it’s obvious Marriott is hiring illegal workers. As the member of a family whose ancestors fought for the Union in the Civil War, it makes me very sad and angry. The carpets in the hallways are way too worn to impress the way the Marriott Hotel did in days past. No bathtub is a problem for me as well. In future I will stay in another hotel chain. When Americans say America First, we MEAN it. And my attitude has NOTHING to do with prejudice or disliking LEGAL IMMIGRANTS. It has to do with Love of God and Country. A principle our nation was founded on. US Constitution: please read it.

This property was clean and provided my family with a comfortable stay. If I come back to Columbus, I would definitely stay here again. The front desk customer service was excellent and everyone was very friendly and professional.

The hotel was very clean and had a fresh scent throughout. It was beautiful. The breakfast was okay but, needs a variety of meats. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The staff at this location were SUPER friendly and helpful. We were staying at this location due to its proximity to Riverside Hospital. As a family who had been through a traumatic experience, the hotel had so many features that we needed such as comfy beds and pillows, cool, calm rooms and complementary breakfast.
