Homewood Suites Wilmington/Mayfaire

The pool was not available, which was a disappointment to my children.

This place hit it out of the park. The proximity to Wrightsville beach at the price point it’s at is amazing. We wanted extra room so we could watch tv after our kids fell asleep- but I didn’t look very closely at the details of the hotel - the hot tub/ heated pool, fire pits (that are ACTUALLY lit) left us outside until 10 both nights- so we all went to bed together! The fridge was nice for storing breast milk - and the mini stove made perfect buttered noodles for my 5 yr old. To be pet friendly, it sure didn’t smell that way which was a huge plus. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly. I was super bummed this morning (Monday) to find out that waffles are only on the weekends after I told myself yesterday I that I could only eat 2- and then have more tomorrow :( but it’s hard to complain about breakfast tacos 🌮 This will likely be our new favorite :) Things that I wasn’t particularly bothered by- but worth mentioning are that there was what looked like mold in the bathroom on the door/door frame. And the fancy light switch for the fan/light over the bed didn’t work. The light for ‘down’ on the 2nd floor elevator didn’t work either- but like… all in all it would be hard to top this place at this location/price point.

This is a very nice family friendly hotel for pet owners. Very close to shopping and restaurants. You can walk to the Mayfaire Town Center from this hotel.

The hotel reservationist was really nice and gave us some options of rooms that might suit us as we have toddler in the party. She was very sweet. The suite is huge (prob 600 sqft) and has full kitchen. The downstairs bar area and free coffee/hot cocoa station seem nice. We are happy with our spacious, well located accommodations.

Firstly, I’ve been apart of the Hilton family for majority of my life. Homewood suits was the go to for my mother and has since followed me into adulthood. With that being said, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with Homewood suits! The receptionist (Ann or Anya) who by the way refused to give her name, was beyond rude! She alone ruined the whole experience due to being uncooperative and going back-and-forth. Moreover, she thought it was funny that I booked the room through Expedia instead of being in Hilton member, which in the grand scheme of things, displayed her distain for me…as if I was less than for not being a Hilton member.

We spent one night visiting family. We got the studio because it was just one night, but found it had plenty of room to spread out with full kitchen, sofa, and desk. The wine/ beer taco spread was a very nice surprise. All of the staff were very friendly to us and our dog. I'd highly recommend this facility and will definitely stay there again while we're in town. We will also look for other Homewood Suites Hotels on our roadtrips.

Upon arriving my wife thought the exterior wasn’t in that good of shape. I didn’t look that closely cause I knew I had booked a superb rated place, however upon entering I began looking more closely. The first thing I noticed was we came through a back door that had all the cleaning carts lined up in the hallway which I thought was odd. Then I noticed how the paint on the doors was in need of repainting. Then I began looking at the carpet in the hallways which was very dirty with lots of stains. Getting into the room was fine and the space was very comfortable and large (would have been great if we were a family and staying more than one day). As I pulled back the comforter I noticed the sheets has some very small debris upon them. I started to call the front desk but it was late and we were going to eat so I decided it wasn’t bad enough to inconvenience my own self. The room looked like it had been updated and was ok. For over 200 for one night and a 9.4 rating I was thinking it might could have been just a tad nicer/cleaner.

Check-in and check-out were a breeze. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was perfect for our large family. Also, having the breakfast on site was wonderful with small children. We expected some muffins and bagels and got so much more - eggs, bacon, waffles, potatoes…it was great! The short drive to Wrightsville Beach fit perfectly into our plans. We will definitely be coming back!

Overall really nice the area is clean and staff is welcoming. Our family had a nice stay at this hotel.

Overall, this was a great room at a great price for visiting family at Christmas. Only a few areas of improvement to note. We stayed in 205 (2 queen bed suite) and were excited to find a ceiling fan in the room. However, blades were off balance and made a loud grinding sound to the point it was unusable. Another issue was the lack of housekeeping during the stay, which seems to be common in the post-covid hotel world. They did inform us of this at check-in. We had to get any room supplies (towels, toilet paper, etc) from the front desk. Also, noticed the bathroom, while clean overall, had dirty areas in all the corners, and the room's carpet was not in the best condition. If probably attribute this to the effect of not having that daily housekeeping service. However, this is just feedback for areas to improve. The continental breakfast was good. The kitchen was very functional (though no dishwasher packs for the dishwasher). The gym was better than most hotel gyms, and overall we enjoyed the stay and plan to stay there again. Those 2 things aside
