MainStay Suites Camp Lejeune

My room wasn’t like the photo it shows in the website The front desk lady was super nice and welcoming I asked he for a little check out she had no problem with that Outdated hotel but for the price was good the insulation is not good you can hear outside noise and kids in the hallway but agin for the price is good

Although we did not use this amenity, they had nice outdoor seating for families to use. Beyond that, I would not recommend this hotel. I'm not sure where Expedia.com got their information to rate this hotel as excellent as it appeared messy and registration area was not very welcoming. The photos with the hotel's listing aren't even of that hotel specifically; only a few of them were actually representative of the hotel. Got to our room, opened the door and was immediately met with the overpowering smell of mildew. I called the front desk to ask if we could switch to another room and the guy that answered begrudgingly accommodated my request and made a comment that insinuated I was being picky. I politely thanked him and proceeded to new assigned room; only to find that it smelled of mildew as well just not as strong as the first room. Due to lack of availability at other hotels we decided to stay and deal with it. The bathrooms appear renovated, clean and in good shape. Sofa bed had stains, vents in the hallways next to the elevators had black dust/mold looking stuff coming out of them. I felt like staff working when we checked in was a little overwhelmed and didn't have much help. Beyond that and dropping my key off the next morning I did not have any other interactions with staff.

Unfortunately not so great but front desk refunded second night and we didn’t have to stay. Room was muggy, coffee maker not working properly - missing and loose parts almost burned me because it filled with hot water where coffee pod goes, all dishes were in dishwasher and some not cleaned, tub anti skid mat was peeling, empty coffee container at front desk and nobody was available. Bed and sheets were very comfortable though.
