Shell Island Resort - All Oceanfront Suites

Great experience. Very family friendly

My stay was terrible never got towels refreshed an umbrella flew and hit my 7 month old baby and no one even cared they literally just looked at me and walked away I can’t even make This up!! This morning when I checked out they had over 500 in charges to my room that I didn’t make!

Our accommodations overlooked the ocean and was quiet. The bedroom was spacious with 2 double beds. The kitchenette had basic amenities including a microwave, stove top and full-size refrigerator/freezer. The closest coffee shop was about a 45 minute walk but enjoyable. The restaurant offered a decent selection of items and was good. Overall a nice place for a couple or a family.

Room 616 is below standard. Sofa was filthy and worn down and uncomfortable, linens were stained and ac was out for hours. No fan definitely in need of an update. We were here for graduation for a grandchild and I was 2 week out from postop cancer surgery. Couldn’t lay on couch and couldn’t stay in without ac. Pretty miserable.

I loved being on the ocean however our ocean view was obstructed from the palm trees and dunes because our room was on the 2nd floor- and we could hear the guests in the pool area, too low to really appreciate the views. As far as the room itself goes, the decor was nice with a coastal living theme however the showerhead was loose in the wall and we couldn't move it for fear of it falling out of the wall. The coffee pot in the room was broken - they did replace it with a new one. Lastly, I felt like every day I had to request soap, towels etc, In other vacation hotels there is an abundant amount available in the rooms without even asking. Lastly, for the amount of money it costs to stay here the parking should be free! But all in all, it was a nice vacation with the family.

This place was more than we expected given our travel experiences and our knowledge of finding just the right getaway weekend hop. We were completely satified with our room, the amenities, the ocean front view and the staff. We did notice that there has been some wear & tear due to this place being right on the ocean shore. Thats expected over time. But it is still well maintained & the staff & housekeeping seem so accommodating. We spent our 8th anniversary here at Shell Island and it was so delightful. We would return to this place in a heartbeat & bring our family or friends. And we loved that this place is located at the very end of Lumina Ave which makes it more private & quiet. We were thoroughly satisfied.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Checkin was quick and easy. Love the parking deck, made the walk to the room very short. The view was amazing, we watched sunrise from our balcony and sunset from the top of the parking deck...both were beautiful. Room was tidy, kitchen has basics to make a simple meal and microwave for frozen quick meals. The freezer wasnt really cold enough to keep things frozen, we werent there long enough to try to see if it could be turned down to freeze better. This was not an issue for us, our party was all grown ups, but if you have small kids be aware that the hot water gets very hot, very fast! Check out was fast too and the staff, again was very friendly. This is the second time we have stayed here and we will be back!

I love that it is mostly a hidden and quiet gem. I did not love the fact that our room did not appear clean. There was still trash in the trash can under the kitchen sink. There was sand in our bed and enough black mold in the bathroom that even my children noticed it.
