Blockade Runner Beach Resort

As soon as we pulled up we were welcomed and greeted by friendly staff. We stayed in the double queen oceanfront suite with a beautiful view of the ocean and property. The pool was kid friendly and also offered a poolside for adult beverages that were made perfectly. The property is absolutely gorgeous with amazing flower gardens and hammocks and views of bunny rabbits and wonderfully cared for lush lawns. We cant wait to go back! Looking forward to our next stay!

The hotel has potential, has a great location and the staff is nice. But our room wasn’t ready till 5 and we have young kids which made things hard, the bathroom by the pool was disgusting, the door to our bathroom came off its tracks and landed on my wife’s head and I was told on two separate occasions that I wouldn’t have to pay for parking then low and behold it was on my bill. Luckily I noticed and they took it off. We also ate at the restaurant and I ordered my burger mid rare and they brought me well done. When I asked about it the waitress said they’re always served that way and then asked if she could go ahead and get a credit card for the bill before she forgets (while we were still eating lol). Could be a great place, just needs a little buttoning up

We were originally staying at an Airbnb along the riverwalk and met up with family that was staying at the Blockade Runner. It's safe to say we fell in love from the second we walked into the lobby. This resort exceeded all expectations! The staff was incredible (especially Mikel at the pool bar). The restaurants on the property were delicious and staff rocked as well. Great access to the beach and the rooms were perfect! I can't recommend this place enough. We will definitely be staying there again when we return to Wrightsville Beach.

Good beach resort for families.

Blockade Runner offers a safe, family fun environment with an exceptional staff (particularly the front desk). I always enjoy my stays.

It has been about a decade since my family and I last stayed at the Blockade Runner.We knew that since our last visit the hotel had been remodeled.I was very disappointed in the remodel that took place.I actually felt the hotel was more charming and in better condition ten years ago than it was this week. Our room had an amazing view, but the windows were dirty, the door to the bathroom did not close all the way, there was an odd window connecting the bathroom to the bedroom that was blocked with a paper blind, the walls are paper thin (we could hear everything that was happening next door and in the hallway)...I could go on, but suffice to say, we will not be returning. It's just too pricey for what we got.

Excellent stay!! My family had a wonderful time! The room was on the beach and exactly what we wanted. The staff were very friendly and helpful! Blockade exceeded our expectations!!

Absolutely loved my stay! The beach is located right on the beach and it's so calm. There were no big crowds. Pretty residential and family friendly. The receptionist was so kind-he upgraded our room with balcony and it was so lovely view of the ocean. I will definitely be going back again soon!

The staff was so accommodating and friendly. The room was large, bright, comfortable, and clean. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom counter. Loved the food and beverages at the beach hut. Large lawn with games for kids. Always lovely experience. Was not disappointed. Will be back.
