Comfort Inn Laurinburg

I had to book this hotel as a backup. I booked 2 hours before checkin. I got there checked in at 3:15, they told me my room was not ready for another half an hour. I asked them if there was any way to override that as I had a graduation to go to. She did some calls and found a room and told me it would be ready in 5 min. I went out to my car gathered my family and our belongings. We walked all the way to the room number wrote down and it was wide open and dirty. We then walked to the other room as perhaps I got the rooms mixed up. Nothing. We walked back down to the lobby as the manager was there and said that we were going to have to wait at least 30 minutes. In the middle of me and my husband trying to figure out what to do in this time crunch, the manager storms by us saying she will go help them clean the room herself to get it done. As we were told there were no more rooms and had no choice but to wait… we walked outside, spoke and he went back in. Not even gone for 5 minutes he comes back with a room key and says it was my attitude. Maybe it was our interracial relationship that bothered them.

Location was good, dining and shopping close by. Right off the interstate. Unfortunately the hotel was in the prof renovations so NO POOL, NO BREAKFAST, NO COFFEE! Also we made a reservation 2 months ago and we waited almost 2 hours for a room. We were passing thru on vacation to visit family for the day so we had limited time. They kept telling us 15 more minutes but continued to pass us by and giving rooms to people just arriving. We were waiting there and kept checking in with them. It was an awful experience and we ended up missing dinner with family we haven't seen in a few years and only had time for a short visit with them. I would love to have just found another hotel but we knew it was passed our cancelation policy. Would like to have been refunded for this kind of customer service.

The room was cozy. The 2 things I wasn't pleased with was the guest that stayed next to me were loud (children) throughout the night. There wasn't any hot breakfast, only brown bag grab and go
