Had an unexpected death in the family a couple days before my arrival to visit Highpoint University. I immediately Contacted Expedia who contacted the hotel to get permission to move my arrival to the following week. Hotel denied the request. Poor customer service with absolutely zero sympathy.

Staff were very responsive. There were several soccer teams staying last night when we stayed. The kids were quite loud, rowdy and seemed to lack good parental or coach support. We were having a drink and dinner in the bar area and it was almost impossible to carry on a conversation. Staff did attempt to talk with parents and coaches however hadn’t been resolved by the time we finished dinner.

My stay here was amazing! The room was clean and big in size. The hotel staff was very friendly, professional, and welcoming. The pool and gym was also nice! Hotels.com stated the breakfast was free, but that is no longer true! Breakfast is $10.95 for adults and $7.95 for kids under 12

We stayed as a family of four for five days to check out the Greensboro area. The room was a two queen bed and was fine. There was a little issue with musty smell, but we lysoled it and was fine. Had a nice stay. The pool was nice, but a little chilly.

The stay overall was great! Only downside was breakfast. Apparently there was only one cook and one wait staff who was also the busser. The tables were dirty because she couldn’t get to them quickly enough. We finally found one that worked for us. There was no order to how she waited the tables and we were skipped over twice although she told us she was coming to us several times in between. When my husband finally spoke up she lost it! She told him that she was not going to argue with him, but she continued “fussing” about being backed up and appreciating patience. My husband and I couldn’t get a word in to calm her down as we were trying to tell her it’s ok, we just wanted to make her aware we had been there well before the last two orders she took. She continued fussing and again saying, I’m not going to argue. She was the only one talking the whole time though. It was so strange, but we chalked it up as her being overwhelmed. Shortly after that we overheard her telling another family she wouldn’t be back “tomorrow.” She needs some help fast! She was very sweet to us after that though and even comped our meal. I’m glad she did because the pancakes were brick hard on the bottom. I could tell the cook was multitasking and had forgotten them, perhaps. I didn’t want to say anything because the manager seemed overtaken dealing with other issues. I won’t hold any of this against them because it was obvious they were understaffed. We didn’t go back for breakfast after that day.
