First time at Aloft in Chapel Hill & as our family was heading to a Tarheel basketball game , we were eager to check-in & change clothes for our adventure. The front desk was understaffed & ill equipped to handle the crowds hoping to do the same as us. We were told our rooms were unavailable & could not check in until after 4:30 which was unacceptable. One room came available & our family quickly changed for our evening. When we returned to ask about our 2nd room we were told only one room was reserved. Clearly our Hotels.com showed 2 rooms reserved. The Aloft Hotel’s computer did not. Reservation’s clerk found us a room but with our time restraints trying to make our event, it was too little too late. This is a hotel which should be seasoned& prepared for a college basketball crowd on game day. Our family was unimpressed with the service. Will throw out a positive to two staff members-their maintenance manager was friendly & kind. Regret I didn’t get his name- & the bartender who also could have used some help post game was responsive & energetic trying to meet the demands. His name was Larry & they need to give him a raise! He worked hard!

We found this hotel on hotels.com when we were evacuated because of Hurricane Irma when we got here everything looked good parking was $10 regardless like stated but didnt say it was even if you had to park across the street at the banks parking lot. (Not a problem after all we had no where else to go.) Well when booking we upgraded (paid more) to have breakfast included. We asked the manager how it worked and he said "our hotel does not offer that" i took the time to show him my reservations and explained to him how we paid extra for it. He then said "no worries I will be here all of your stay so we dont have to worry". (That was after going back and forth for several mins) well the next morning the ladies said to us "we can't do that and that its only $7 per room" we have 4 two adults two kids 11 n 9yrs an omelette is $6 so do the math. After going back and forth for several more mins and explaining what the manager said she gave us two $7 vouchers. Again 4 people on $14 not gonna work. This webiste never said anything about how much per room not that i want $50 per room or anything but at least enough for us to get a meal for each of us. When evacuating you dont call and ask how much food money do you get per room or anything like that. Which the maanger suggested we do next time when making reservations online. I am very disheartened by the way we were treated especially considering our circumstances.

When I first saw the Aloft on Expedia I was intrigued. I had to give it a try. I am so glad I did. Funky, stylish, yet very well-run. I have already told friends and family about it. I know many people who are UNC alums, or who will have reason to visit the Triangle in the future. I do hope they stay at the Aloft Chapel Hill.

my husband and i stayed three nights and all was great for us. but because your rooms have only a shower and not bathtub, we had to change to another hotel when my daughter arrived with her two young children. the blow up bed sounded fun for the toddler but we had to have a tub. that is the only negative at all for this place.
