Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook

The landscaping with flowers is lovely, the restaurant is consistently delicious, and the shared spaces are very clean and well-designed. The front desk staff (especially Lauryn) went above and beyond to help us keep our young kids entertained while we were spending in the lobby - like offering crayons and activity sheets and doing little magic tricks with automatic doors. The beds are super comfortable too. However, we did have to call down a couple of times to get extra towels (we were only supplied with two) and to get some trash removed. Also, our room could have used a deep clean and a little maintenance TLC (cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling, some wallpaper peeling/sagging in the bathroom and bedroom, white stains on the wall above one of the beds). However, this was unusual compared to past recent visits and hope just a fluke.

There were some kids are loud, running up and down the hallway, but for the most part, it was good. There’s some mold in the showers that could be taken care of with some bleach, but other than that it’s sufficient.

When I checked in I asked for a cot. They said no need there’s a pull out couch. This was u true. When I called down they said oops they made a mistake and they do not have cots. I’m very unhappy with the room and they told me there’s nothing they can do because I booked through Expedia. The pool is closed so my kids r very disappointed. This is not what I expected for the money.

The only minus was we could hear the kids above us running around and yelling in the early morning

Staff were very nice, beds were very comfortable, had all the amenities we needed. The kids loved all the holiday decor down in the lobby. Only bother was someone (not us) set the alarm clock for 6am and woke us up super early on the day after Thanksgiving. Also, we wish there was a divider (even a pull curtain or something) between the two rooms in the suite- while there are two rooms there is just an open wall between them. We would like more space from our young kids! :)

Very nice stay in junior suite. Couch in sitting area was a bit stained in spots but nothing gross. Bathroom and everything else was super clean. Nice, deeper tubs than found in basic hotels.

Glad to have a clean comfortable place to stay while in town for a family event.
