Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook, an IHG Hotel

The staff at check in are zero friendly, they are actually miserable, we have been coming to this hotel for year now due to the proximity of our family in Smithtown not because we love it, they use to have a better breakfast, now its only until 9am during the week, no variety, it seems as the new management its tryin to cut corners, maybe its time we look for another alternative

Our visit was to help family with a project. It was nice to have a clean, comfortable place with friendly staff to come back to each evening. The only complaint is the pillows are to smushie for our liking.

We enjoyed the fact that the breakfast was hot. The children loved the pancake maker even though it takes a few minutes. After 3 days we noticed our room wasn’t serviced with housekeeping when I asked the cleaning lady she said that you must request it at the check in desk. Overall good place for the price

The breakfast was disappointing. We come here at 2x a year to visit our grandchildren. They love the pancakes the machine. When we got to breakfast the machine was empty and no one could fill it. The next day they just took it away. No toaster either!! Waffles and English muffins and no toaster.

The beds were comfortable and the room was modern and spacious. The staff were really nice and willing to help, but the hotel did not anticipate our needs and slow to respond. We reserved a suite for four people, but we were only supplied with enough towels and linens for 2 (not for the pull out sofa). We had to ask twice for the linens (over five hours) before someone dropped them off. Never had enough towels though, so tried to get some from the pool area but they were all out too and had to wait for more. Never received room service. The room had a musty smell and the hotel lobby was under construction. We were bummed to find that one of two TVs in our room did not work, and after a few visits to the desk, we had to have someone in our room after our kids were in bed which was not ideal. But the maintenance person Ron was very helpful and resolved the problem quickly. Overall, the stay was okay but not great.

My husband and I as well as our son's family of five were very comfortable at this hotel. The 2 rooms were very large and spacious and accommodated everyone comfortably, even our son's family of five. Breakfast offered many choices so there was something for everyone and it was quite good. Good coffee too. The staff was as friendly as I'd ever seen so kudos to the front desk staff particularly. We will definitely go there again.

Clean, and centrally located to where all our family live. We always stay here when we’re out visiting. Continental breakfast is really nice, not just cereal and muffins.

The staff was amazing and made everything so easy. Manager Jesse went above and beyond to make sure our family of 6 had everything we needed.

The location is convenient, and quiet. Our room was spacious and clean. We booked for 4 adults and and a child so I wish the pull out sofa bedding would have been in the room already but the front desk has it ready when asked. Breakfast variety was great including hot and cold foods, the only downside is they don’t have non dairy milk options which seems like an easy fix to accommodate more guests needs. Overall pleasant experience for a quick stay.

The air conditioner was too loud and intrusive to a quiet night’s sleep. We had a room with a sofa bed but there were no extra pillows or blankets for it so one of our children had to wear a hoodie to stay warm. The breakfast buffet was very good. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall the cost was way too pricey.
