The Railroad Inn

What a find in Cooperstown! We loved every aspect of the Railroad Inn. The renovation of the old building a few years ago not only made this place so wonderful, it also did great justice to the building's historic nature. Every member of the family was so friendly and helpful. An easy walk to downtown Cooperstown. Snacks always available in lobby. My only suggestion: if you take a second floor room or loft, the stairs can be a little challenge. This is a superb choice for a Cooperstown stay.

Great location. Clean, comfortable family friendly yet relaxing. The bed was super comfortable and I slept in which is rare for me. They had snacks available 24/7 which was also wonderful for busy families.

Perry and his family team are perfect hosts. They make you feel welcome, and take care of every need you might have, with suggestions, recommendations, and careful attention. The rooms are handsome, with great blackout curtains; I slept until almost 9AM one morning! It's incredibly convenient to downtown Cooperstown, but on a quiet side street a few blocks from the baseball crowds. Ground floor rooms, perfect for our friends with mobility issues. There's a generous snack bar in the lobby, with free water, cookies, and munchies. The porch si small but very congenial; we had nice chats there with fellow guests. We go to Cooperstown annually for Glimmerglass performances; this is definitely our new home there.

We enjoyed our stay at the Railroad Inn and really enjoyed the rustic feel. Unfortunately, hard wood floors can be noisy when other guests are not considerate of other guests and allow their kids to run up and down the hall. This is in no way the fault of the Railroad Inn.

There was a lack of hospitality. When we checked in, we were given very little information from the woman at the desk. She was preoccupied with babysitting a young child and conversing with his mother. Otherwise the Inn was clean and very nicely restored.

Great room for a family—sleeps 6 in comfort, with a little separation for parents. Easy location in town. Staff is nice, and free drinks and snacks in the lobby at all hours.

The pictures truly do not so this establishment justice. The rooms are beautifully decorated and kept nice and clean. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
