Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort

Everything was great and amazing. Safe for small kids (my two year old and 5 year old cousins absolutely LOVED it and they had life jackets that fit them perfectly). The lake was very clean as was the beach and overall property. There are many shops and restaurants that are ALL walking distance (I did not have to drive at all the entire trip). The only small issue I had was the A/C in the room was broken and instead of offering a new room or fixing it they just gave us a standing fan which I was iffy about, but I grew up in the Caribbean with no A/C, so it wasn’t a big deal to me, I just thought it was weird that they only gave us a fan instead of a different resolution… Besides that, it was an amazing stay!

Parking garage was a challenge. If they are full, there is no exit or place to turn around - you have to back out. The parking garage is connected to the hotel, which is very nice. The Village side room was nice, clean and spacious. The hotel is conveniently located to the Olympic Center and for shopping and dining. There were many families lodging in town for hockey tournaments so it was not quiet when trying to settle in for the night. At one point the parents were in the hall yelling at their kids and eachother regarding an incident that happened earlier. We definitely expected it to be buzzing with families and kids running around, but the yelling parents was a bit much. Take it someplace private instead of in the hallway - not everyone is there for the kids hockey tournament.

We have been coming to this pet friendly hotel since our children were little (20+ years). We love the comfort and THE BEST VIEWS IN TOWN. The pet friendly rooms are lovely - not like other places that give you run down rooms when traveling with pets. The staff is so friendly too. We can't wait until our next trip!

The hotel is gorgeous and very well maintained for a family owned hotel vs a corporate hotel. So much character. I will say that we didn't enjoy our stay as much as we would have liked but that was no fault of the hotel and the staff. There was a children's basketball tournament in LP the weekend we were there and the hotel was overrun with kids from age 8 - 18. And they ran through the halls and slammed doors at all hours of the night and early in the morning. Make sure that you know exactly what is going on in LP when you book if you are not booking for a specific event that you are attending. I obviously didn't check well enough on the area calendars when I booked our couple's weekend. Other than that, everything was fabulous.

Beautiful view of the lake, and the outdoor amenities were fun for the family.

The Golden Arrow was the most beautifully decorated place to stay in Lake Placid for Christmas. The great room was filled with real Christmas trees that smelled wonderful and made for the best pictures. The whole hotel was covered with lights. Our lakeside view room had a gorgeous view of sunrise on the lake each morning. The pool was warm and was our kid’s favorite amenity. Generations was accommodating and the food was delicious. We were there with a hockey group and the hotel staff were so nice to them and directed them to the gym/court for a safe place to play. The hotel had an indoor scavenger hunt for Christmas that our 7 year old had a blast completing while she was there. We could not have had a better stay.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We had a million dollar view and could watch the fire dancing program from the warmth and comfort of our room. The sunrise was amazing. There was a surprising number of staff that attended promptly to any concern or questions we had. I would definitely recommend this hotel for families, couples.

The property is very close the downtown core. Hence everything is walkable and its close to everything. The view over the lake is terrific. It's a very nice place to spell some time with a family. Staff is kind and helpful. Beach and water toys are great. Nice time - we will come back and stay at the same place for sure

Location was great, loved the beach. The indoor pool was kid friendly and the staff was wonderful!

We didn’t know what to expect, but the rooms were comfortable and we couldn’t pull the kids away from the lake and all the provided activities on the lake. It would be great if they sold drinks and snacks in the little hut by the lake, but otherwise everything was fantastic!
