Fairfield Inn & Suites Plattsburgh

I liked the cleanliness of the environment and the friendly customer service. The employees were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was great! My family and I enjoyed the food. Thank you very much.

My family stayed here for a short stay this Labor Day weekend. Even though I mentioned 4 traveler during my reservation, upon arriving for check in, the front desk staff informed me that our room only had ONE king size bed. We were told that there were no other rooms or beds available to upgrade to. After 5 minutes of contemplating switching hotels, the staff who just told me there were no other options for bedding told me they could charge us more for an executive suite. Fine! We took it, BUT….. The staff told us there was a pullout sofa with pillows and blankets for the kids. Come bed time and there were NO pillows or blankets. My wife called down to the front desk and the staff was rude and told us that they didn’t have ANY extra pillows or blankets available and told us “I don’t know what you want me to do about it”. The next morning, we go in to take our showers and there is disgusting black mold in the shower. We go downstairs for their complimentary breakfast and there is no food and a bunch of hungry guests waiting for what appears to be breakfast that is never coming out. After about half an hour, the staff brings out FIVE bagles for the entire dining area. Are you kidding me? 5 Bagels for the entire dining room! Shortly after, one plate of very watery eggs. DISGUSTING!!! But wait that’s not all!! We decide to go swim. The entire pool area smelled like poop and the water was so foggy looking. The hottub had nasty green stuff floating in it.

We have stayed at this Fairfield many times before during the same time frame, and the quality of the hotel seems to have gone downhill. There are many broken fixtures in the hallways and our room had a musty smell. The Wi-Fi was out the whole 2 days we were there and my child couldn't complete her homework, which causes some stress. Some people were given compensation for the inconvenience as they checked out (I overheard them while I was eating), but we were not offered any compensation. The hot water for tea was lukewarm at night, and the walls are a bit thin; we could hear the TV next door. However, it was clean and the area is safe, so it wasn't too terrible.

As always, rooms and property was nice and clean. The hot tub was not functional, which disappointed the kids but hopefully it was something short term. The breakfast was disappointing as they were running low on pretty much everything that was there.
