Sonesta Select Whippany Hanover

POSITIVES: 1- Building inside and Out look appealing to the eye. Not a motel look, just nice. 2- Huge lobby with plenty of seating and decor. 3- Hotel is literally off of the main road and just minutes away from all major highways. 4- Several Gas stations near by, one next door. 5- Diners, Pizzerias, Fast food, 24 hour WaWa, & more all within a 2-5 minute drive. 6- The room had a king size bed, curved love seat w/otterman, a desk & chair, stand up closet, refrigerator. It was comfortably arranged. 7- Staff was professional & accommodating. NEGATIVES: 1- Small entrance into the room. Just wide enough to slip the luggage cart thru the doorway and to the back/main area. 2- No Microwave even though there's a counter above the hidden refrigerator. 3- Breakfast not included 4- No complimentary Coffee station. Though you can buy at the food service counter. 5- While the property looks well kept, the parking lot was left unattended for over a week. I saw trash build up over days around parked vehicles and open spaces. Perhaps they were understaffed due to the holidays. ALL IN ALL, I recommend this Hotel for Singles or families. Nice open outer deck with seating and a pool. I would stay here again in the future.

This is our hotel when visiting my wife’s family in NJ. Today we checked out and as I was about to pull out of the lot, a woman from house keeping was holding my jacket I left accidentally in the room. She literally grabbed it and ran outside to the parking lot before I drove away. It was a new fall jacket and I was so grateful. Glad I left a tip in the room.

Staff are great. Very accomodating. Fitness room is spacious and light-filled. Makes it appealing to work out there. We have stayed a couple of different places in Whippany and this is by far the best. This trip we had six rooms for a family wedding and everyone had a good experience with their stay.

This has been our hotel of choice when we visited NJ over the last two years. It has quiet, clean, comfortable rooms and seems more for business travelers than families. Staff was pleasant and accommodating to our needs.

We booked based on reviews which I’m confused as to how there’s so many good ones. First we had to switch rooms because they gave us a connection bedroom with 9 soccer teenagers next door. Seems this hotel placed all these kids spread out which makes no sense because even the next room we got placed in had loud obnoxious teenagers banging until 11pm. I had to call the desk and Kaylee stated there’s no security or manager.. Ok sooo we pay money to basically be told there’s nothing you can do?? That’s really nice to know. So on top of being up half the night due to noise we found a dirty plastic fork on our room floor at check in and the entrance ways were packed with bags/food containers from people ordering. This hotel was gross and I honestly wish I could get a refund. Photos we have as proof

Our shower/tub was backed up which we did not realize until my husband was showering and the tub was not draining well. Once it drained after he turned off the water, there was dirt and scum all over the tub so no one else in my family was able to shower before our 12 hour drive back to Chicago. The staff was extremely professional and reduced the charge of our night’s stay but quite frankly, I thought it should have been fully comped. We stay in Sonesta Hotels regularly. I do appreciate the upgrade to the common areas but the fact that this happened makes one feel that the rooms are not being cleaned in-between guests which is unacceptable.

I ran to this hotel because the original hotel (The Garden Executive Hotel) that I booked was deplorable. This hotel was a big relief, it was really far from my family. But this was worth the drive and what I was escaping at the previous hotel. Sonesta Select is clean, modern and the staff was very helpful and friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
