Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jersey City North - Hoboken, an IHG Hotel

First of all my reservation was canceled even though I had called the hotel to update my lost card. The supervisor hang up on me three times when I was trying to get a solution since I traveled from out of state. I overheard her telling the employee she was training that she should hang up and take no nonsense from costumers even when all I was doing is to find out what happened, explaining to her to even go back and listen to the recorded line conversation with the holiday in reservation. They are so rude, and dirty, our rooms went all days without cleaning even when we stopped at the desk to request them to clean. We had to clean by ourselves because the cleaning people leaves at 3pm….. such a terrible experience and I hope holiday in express investigates this! I will never hope for anyone to stay at this location, they will hide bananas because the kids were taking to go eat!! How much are bananas, if I didn’t eat mine I can carry it to eat later.

Hotel staff shutoff water in eating area, and charge me $2.00 per bottle which you can get 45 bottles for $4.00. No charge in menu for complementary food. No food for kids, except some outdated and not popular cereal only.

We stayed here for a family trip to NY. We were able to easily get it Hoboken to see the city skyline and we were easily able to access transportation to NY. We were 10-20 minutes from everywhere. The area is under construction BUT we felt safe (which is a big thing for me especially with kids). Our continental breakfast was good and they had tons of options. The room was clean. The walls have some smudges on them but it didn't make it feel dirty. Our room was by the train tracks so the kids enjoyed watching the box cars go by. The trains didn't disturb our sleep at all. Overall it was a great stay and price for an overnight trip to Hoboken and NYC

Overall great service. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast buffet in the morning excellent. I would recommend it for family.

Upon check in the inexperienced receptionist took so long to check us in, and then proceeded to tell us that we only paid $404 and owed another $139. I said "no I can see my credit card fully billed for the $505 that was the Expedia cost which included occupancy fees, taxes and the only thing left to pay was the nightly refundable incidental fees" She said " No you owe $139 which is the difference of what you paid and what you owe." I showed her the math in that case would be $101 difference not $139 and she couldn't even do basic math and proceeded to argue with me in front of our kids and offered to cancel the rental." I said "No I will take it up with Expedia and she charged us $139 extra in fees plus the $100 a night for incidentals which was expected. I am taking this up with my credit card company at this time but will never stay at a Holiday Inn or IHG hotel again the experience was so horrible. The hotel is on a one way road you have to go over 3 miles out of the way to get to the other side of the street in front of a cement divider. Traffic is horrible so this 6 miles out of the way takes almost an hour. Breakfast was good, as expected. I would have never booked this hotel for $322 a night when there are closer hotels for the same price in the city! I am considering not using Expedia further due to this issue if it is not resolved. If IHG wants to use a booking agency to further their marketing they need to at least train their agents because this girl sucked!

The breakfast was ok needs more variety of food. They had a lot of vegan food. No waffles or pancakes. Only had had special K cereal. Needs more kid friendly food.

It was nice. My family and I enjoyed our stay.

Excellent service, very cooperative staff. Would definitely recommend my friends and family.
