The Jesse Hotel & Bar

Great experience! We come to this area a couple times a year to visit family near South Tahoe . Last trip, I was alone and my flight was delayed. I arrived at 1 am totally unprepared and stayed in a shady dump. This trip, I planned for a delay and booked at The Jesse. My husband and I arrived an hour before check in. They secured our bags, while we took a walk, and put them in our room when it was ready. Fabulous customer service! Room was even better than the picture. And, if you're going to an Ace's game, the field is only two blocks away. As in any metropolitan city, you will see some homeless while walking about. Would definitely stay again! The Jesse will be our "go to" overnight transition from the long and unpredictable east coast flight.

We chose the Jesse to have an unconventional stay in Reno... by that, I mean a place that is not a cookie-cutter hotel that you would find in any city in America. You definitely are not getting what you've always gotten before with the Jesse. Hip, unpretentious, bar and lounge. 24-step long stairway to the second floor—clean hallway with a century-old feel. A secure door leads to a rather large room that you know has a long history and you can imagine the many stories that these century-old exposed brick walls have seen. It's not luxury like a Ritz Carlton, but it makes you smile at it simple charm. RIght across the street is a great example of Basque family dining.
