The property is beautiful. The amenities were fantastic. The food in the restaurant was great but the wait was long due to being short staffed. The snack bar at the pool was never open because there weren’t enough golfers on the course we were told. Now I’m sure it’s because of staffing issues. The staff when you could find one was friendly and seemed accommodating. However I had requested housekeeping and they never came. I was assured they would come the next day and again nothing. I asked to speak with the manager and she was unable to speak to me as she was helping in the restaurant as they were short staffed there as well. I was told she would follow up with me and again nothing. I understand staff shortages are an issue everywhere right now. But for the price you pay to stay I believe you should get your bed made, have fresh towels and get trash taken out. There was supposed to be a microwave in the common area and I brought breakfast sandwiches for my kids after reading this. I arrived and there was no microwave. They said they would try and track one down as they didn’t know where it went. On my last day there was a microwave. Unfortunately a little late at this point. It’s a beautiful property it would be so much better if it was properly staffed. We chose to check out a day early and find a property that provided house keeping and was sufficiently staffed.

The Wilderness Club is isolated but worth a trip to experience the vastness of Montana. WC is located in Eureka, MT, a small town with limited dining options so plan to dine at the resort or rent a cottage with a kitchen. The golf course is the highlight of the resort. It is beautifully conditioned , as the cool nights allow the grass to flourish. The course is fair and challenging and should be enjoyable for all handicap levels. Greens fees are reasonable for a course of this quality. The hotel units are spacious but the rugs have to be replaced by rustic vinyl similar to the bathroom area, as they give a bad first impression. The breakfasts are quite good with a nice variation from wraps to pancakes. Lunch is served at the "Snack Shack" adjacent to the pool complex. It serves basic items-brats, dogs, burgers. The dinner menu is limited with only 3 entrees -steak, pot roast and a pasta dish although one evening, there was a chicken special, which was very good. The pool area is small but will keep the kids interest as the slide is fast, The adjacent lake has a tall floating inflatable island , that will challenge the more adventurous visitors The Wilderness Club is the ideal location for a family or buddies golf trip Other than the rugs and limited dinner menu, The WC provides a lot to do for a family but even more for golfers, as the course will exceed your expectations

The resort grounds are beautiful and well kept. My husband said golfing was great. Kids really liked the water slide and inflatables at the lake. Definitely bring your bike and/or scooters to ride around the property. Room was very clean with the most comfortable bed! Staff was very nice, but the only reason for some negative review was there was a planned power outage (kinda weird) and fire alarm went off at 4 am and there was no staff anywhere to help. I called 3 numbers, including emergency number listed and no one answered. The noise was so awful and wouldn’t stop that we packed up and left. Overall really fun time with family. But the resort really needs staff onsite 24/7 for emergencies. You are in the middle of no where, so it’s a little scary if you can’t get help from the hotel either.

We stayed in one room without a larger group, so we did not have access to the common room with the the full kitchen, tabletop work space, and cozy seating... or control over the AC in OUR room. Yikes! We tried to keep the room as cool as possible, but we were fortunate that it wasn’t a real heat wave yet. If you’re going in the dead of August and expect higher temperatures, then bring a large enough group to trigger your access to the common room. You’ll regret it if you don’t! Despite this, the grounds are absolutely stunning. And because the property is still a relatively new country club with ongoing construction, now is the time to go! There were hardly any people and we had the pool area to ourselves for several hours. If you’re looking for a quiet but family-friendly getaway and love being outdoors in and around the mountains, this is the place.
