21c Museum Hotel Kansas City

This is a very trendy hotel that gives off Boutique-style vibes. The art work is AMAZING! I appreciated that I could walk around the lobby and look at the art work without being charged. So even if you decide not to stay here, stop by and visit the world-class art gallery. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We dined at The on-site restaurant called The Savoy and had nice dinner. The restaurant feels like something you'd find in Chicago or speak easy in Manhattan's lower East side. The food was okay. I expected more flavor and taste. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The pork chop was meh. My hotel room was really nice, pretty big actually. I actually would call it a suite. I had a sitting room and the a separate bedroom, both with separate TV's and air conditioning units, which is really nice if one of you is a Night Owl and the other a Morning Lark! I loved the the luxurious body wash, shampoo and hair conditioner (Malin+Goetz). So if you're wondering why I gave this hotel a 4 and not a 5, is for one reason; The horrible mattress and pillows! The mattress was too soft and the pillows were too hard. I could not sleep for two nights, and even ended up sleeping on the couch the second night. Over all, A really nice hotel and I would recommend it to my friends and family. Will I stay there again, maybe...if they bought new beds!
