AmeriVu Inn and Suites - Chisago City

We chose this due to its location near our grandkids but also because it is basically the only option around. It is clear that this hotel has seen better days and that maintenance is not a thing here for these owners. Our stay was 4 nights so we "upgraded" to the executive suite and I use that term loosely here. No towels, the kitchenette floor was so filthy my shoes stuck to it, sticky and with debris all over. The "couch" was disgusting and had large stains all over it as well as ripped cushions so we never sat on it - gross, and needs to be replaced. Only half of stove worked as the knob on one burner was free flowing and worn out, so a safety issue. Several lights didn't work and were burned out. The shower takes about 10 minutes to drain after being ankle deep in water. The toilet ran constantly so I had to call that in. All this within the first hour there... When I complained about the floor and the towels I was told it was my fault because I checked in early. I seriously doubt that my 18 minute early check-in was the reason for these levels of massive failures, especially since there wasn't a housekeeping cart anywhere on the 3rd floor. Yes some of these were corrected but clearly these owners have lost touch with the whole concept of the "hospitality" industry and has forgone any serious - or even regular - maintenance. So we paid a premium for very substandard accomodations. Next trip up we will stay in Forest Lake...

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here so much I will be staying here in the future when I visit my son's family that lives in the area. Did not use the pool but will in the future. Breakfast options were yummy. Room was comfortable and well stocked with necessary supplies. Staff was pleasant and helpful. All around great experience.

Bedding and linens were not the cleanest, both bed sheets were inside out, there was someone else's hair leftover on one bed and lint/ unknown dark specs on the other and one of the towels. The buttons on the comforter were also annoying. Undusted surfaces in the room too.Thin walls, could hear when the neighboring rooms were talking or running water, and kids stomping down the hallway. We also weren't able to use the hot tub because by the time there was finally no children they closed the pool.

The property was clean and nice. The staff were really accomodating while I was in the area for a family emergency, and had to keep booking a night at a time.

Yes it was clean. But the little details ruined the hotel. I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights for my family. First night a fight broke out at 2:30 am in the room next door. Kept everyone awake.Internet did not work except in front lobby. Had to call to get someone to front desk for any assistance. Next day all keys did not work. Trip to front desk. No clean towels another trip to front desk. Rooms not made up on second day.Not enough toilet paper or shampoo for 4 people for 2 days. Bring your own! Breakfast was dismal and space too small. Manager entered, without even knocking, one of our rooms prior to check out time while someone was showering. Totally unacceptable! Overpriced for the poor service. About half the price we paid would be more reasonable. Overall a disappointing experience.

They advertised roll-away beds on the website & we needed one for our 3rd child. They did not have any extra beds or cots to use, so we had to make a bed on the floor. There were no towels for the pool, had to use the room towels. Also no conditioner, just shampoo available. Overall, it suited our needs for one night, but not sure we'd book here again.

I booked for 2 nights with my family. Pool was decent, but by the second day of swimming we asked for pool towels and they had none, and my kids all started getting rashes from the crazy amount of chemical, saltwater that was in the pool. Beds were not comfortable, but expected for a hotel. We couldn't even get regular towels for the room until 6 pm because they didn't have any. We ended up leaving early because the rashes were so bad on all 3 kids. We left in a hurry and left one of our pillows behind. Our fault completely. We realized it when we got home, called them and they said they would check the next day for us. We called and kept getting told to call back 30 minutes later. By 3 pm the next day they finally checked and told us it was not there. We didn't have it, it was left there. Normally i wouldn't care but it was a special pillow that was 50 bucks. A king size, in a bright color. Couldn't have been missed, but we were told it wasn't there. I honestly doubt they checked. It wasn't the worst hotel i have ever stayed at, but i probably won't be staying there again...

Nice place for a quick overnight. Comfy beds. Close to family in the area.

Our check in was nice. Room had significantly scarred wood furniture, but frig and micro which we needed. No staff at desk at 10am. Decided to stay another night but only staff there was cleaning lady. She gave us towels for pool because there were none. Later another staff yelled at us for taking the towels without permission! Second day we opened the curtains and loads of flies came out. Management did give us another room which they said was an upgrade, but our bill was same. The location was nearest to family, but we wouldn't stay there again.

Absolutely horrific, needed to change rooms 3 times. We requested a specific room which was to accommodate 5 people. The room given to us had only 1 bed - clearly not enough. We were told we could get a rollaway bed but we would have to be charged additional for it. Then when we received it, it was broken. Room 2 - changed to a 2 queen bedroom - but the bathroom door was locked!!! Desk attendant had NO keys for it - then was surprised when we asked for a different room where we could actually use a bathroom!!!! Then he start ramming the bathroom door with his shoulder scaring my kids!!! We finally got another room - but not before a power outage that left us stuck in a dark elevator. Such a joke of a stay - on my husbands birthday.
