Hyatt Place Utica

Overall a good place to stay. HOWEVER, I was not allowed to check in until 4:45 PM which was a major issue. I had booked the hotel partially due to the 3pm check-in because I had an event and needed to get there at a certain time. My 4 kids were forced to use the lobby bathroom to change and get ready all the while being told by the front desk that it was because our room was 'handicap accessible' and needed to be cleaned. They had been fully booked the night before and were running behind on their cleaning. I would think that these rooms would be PRIORITIZED in order to not keep a disabled person waiting in the lobby for almost 2 hours. My daughter had been in a car accident and had difficulty walking. They kept making excuses and didn't offer up any sort of help to make the situation better. I fail to see how their lack of efficiency in doing their jobs should be my problem and I'd really like them to know I was NOT HAPPY. I made it very clear that I was not pleased (politely I might add), yet, the staff continued to make excuses but not offer any sort of help. Thankfully, my kids are troopers and didn't just went with it and made the best of the situation. I will never be coming back to this hotel needless to say.

It was a nice place overall, but little things made it just an okay stay. Beds were awesome. So comfy! Later checkout than other hotels, and a really decent breakfast. However, that being said, the shower was low pressure, no big, but the lights in the bathroom were motion sensitive, so after being in the shower 15 minutes, it turned itself off. The shower also whined while running, which again, no big, but when both rooms on either side of us had the same issue at 7 am, it was not a great way to wake up. We were in the second floor and apparently right beneath the water pipes because we could hear every single time someone flushed a toilet, like we were in then basement or something. We were gathering our stuff to checkout and looking under tables/couch for lost toys, and found someone’s nicotine vape under the couch. We went to the pool with our kids and it was supposed to be open until 10. At 9:52, without warning, the lights turned off in the room, leaving the pool lights. At 9:56, again without warning, all the lights were turned off and we were left in pitch darkness with 2 other families. Construction was being done in the parking lot and machines were making noises (back up beeping and large machinery moving) around 5 am on a Saturday. Construction equipment being in the parking lot made parking inconvenient. Someone blocked a stairwell door with a luggage cart and stairwell doors were propped open.

Very clean, great room size with family of 5. Complimented Breakfast in the morning was also really good. Pool is good size but there wasnt much of anything else (like slides or other rides, which would've been great for the kids). Over all great experience, highly recommand for family

I always stay here at the Hyatt when visiting family. The staff is wonderful, the facilities are comfortable and any issues are taken care of immediately. The breakfast is exceptionally tasty! The hotel is centrally located.

One of my worst stays ever. Construction dust and noise throughout. Even early on Sunday morning at 7 construction crews were hammering. Allowed children to run and shout on room hallways until midnight despite complaints by numerous guests. Bar was out of most alcohol choices. And on a very minor note but indicative of the hotel's lack of professionalism, the shower had two containers of conditioner but no shampoo.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Marissa checked us in. She was informative and accommodating. The staff at breakfast was also kind and accommodating, especially to the 5 children in our group. The rooms were recently updated and very comfortable and clean. Great stay, overall!

The best thing about this hotel was the size of the room. Our family of four fit very comfortably in the room because of how large it is. Staff was very very kind. The free breakfast was very good as well. The cleaning service never came into our room during our 3 night stay. Wasn’t too big of a deal except we had to ask for new towels and for our trash to be taken out.

We gathered here for to attend a family funeral in the area. We arrived late and had an excellent interaction with Anas who was manning the reception desk. In all we very satisfied with all of the staff and condition of the property.

The rooms were set up very nice for our family to spread out. One elevator was down the whole time, and on one of the floors, you could only go up, not down. The pull out sofa was not a great mattress, and the rooms with double beds, it would have been nice to have a queen option. Price was right, clean, and great staff.
