Comfort Inn Utica

Love the price and cleanliness of the place (the hallway even smells amazing!). Staff was great and the breakfast was wonderful! They didn’t charge extra for our furbaby, which we so appreciate. Only thing was it was, someone kept walking on the 2nd floor consistently from 7am to around 9am, then around the evening time as well. Not sure if it was staff or a restless guest. However, the hotel was really great overall! It was close to a meeting point for our fishing trip at Lake St. Clair. Will definitely stay here again if we take another Michigan trip!

Went to check in and was told we were already checked in. They accidentally checked someone in under our reservation. Was charged $250 for incidentals which isnt listed ANYWHERE they say its cause people have been smoking in the rooms. Which was extremely clear the ENTIRE hotel REEKS of weed even the parking lot. Which really sucked aince we were staying with our kids for a family vacation. Now people being ignorant and smoking weed in the hotel isnt the staffs fault they definitely could kick people out

The lobby was under construction but everyone went out of their way to make sure not to disturb anyone. Staff was amazing, especially Elvis the front desk staff. We had an emergency trip downstate for family in the hospital and traveling with a baby, everyone was very friendly

The staff was very kind and helpful. Under renovations so a bit messy and did not like that people were smoking right outside the entrance and had to walk past them especially smoking weed and we had kids. The place definitely needs renovations as it is very dated. It was clean for the most part. Very weird that bathroom and bedroom areas were open to each other through the shower/tub! Just a shower curtain on each side.

The counter person, Elvis was really personable and helpful. We have stayed there before and will continue to when we visit family.

The staff was nice but the only thing I didn’t like was as I was checking in, the man waited to tell me about charge, as he was running my card that’s when he said there’s a $250 charge and my credit card ended up being charged it was not held, would’ve been a nice heads up, knowing that I had to pay $250 for a comfort inn, my deposit shouldn’t be more than my room, especially a basic hotel like that shouldn’t cost so much for a deposit. Then on top of that, he thought that I was with another black family and I was not with a black family. My fiancé is actually white and my child is mix so that was a little insulting but I did not make a big deal out of it because he wasn’t being racist or anything but he assume that I was with another black family.

Weekend trip to see family. The hotel happened to be under renovation, which we weren't aware of upon booking. But it didnt impact our stay. The front desk was friendly and courteous. The beds were extremely comfortable! I would have given 5 stars but i had 1 small issue. We were in a whirlpool room, which was cool in and of itself. But you entered the tub from the bathroom, which opened up into the main room. This left no privacy in the bathroom, with only shower curtains seperating the rooms. All in all it was a great stay and will defistay there again!

I did interact with 3 customer service individuals during my 4-day stay in the hotel. One was thorough and friendly, the other was thorough and kind of less friendly and the third one could manage to respond to my request but seemed to have no clue, the face was wandering into the nowhere. During the nighttime, I saw guests- gathering outside the hotel, in one of the times one of the individuals was sitting in front of the entrance using a lawn chair. On checking in, the receptionist stated that because the breakfast area is under renovation, so, there will be no usual breakfast, instead, breakfast is in paper bags which will be lined on a desk tomorrow morning, each guest will take one bag to eat the breakfast in the room. He showed me the bags lined behind him to be used tomorrow. The first morning of my stay, I came down at 9:10AM to take our assigned bags, I found none, and when I asked, the answer was that the bags were lined on the desk for breakfast which is limited to a time from 6 AM to 9 AM only. On the first morning, we had our breakfast in the nearest Mcdonald's. The second morning as I was keen to have breakfast for my family, I found no bags, instead, I saw a few strudles, granola bars, apples and bananas, coffee and tea. I took samples up to my family -photo included- and I confirmed that the plan is to have army rangers breakfast, in conclusion, we had 4-day breakfasts in the nearest McDonald's. Other than these points the stay was peaceful and average
