Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Detroit-Novi, an IHG Hotel

Pool was a little small but clean and perfect for families with kids who just want to be in the pool. Staff were excellent and friendly! I will stay here again!

First night great. Second night, not good. Microwave broke, asked for fix or replacement with no follow thru--rely on and booked specifically for it since i have food allergies. Lots of kids, which is fine, except not well monitored. They overcrowded lobby and hallway to get to rooms.

The dining area was limited but food was more than most regular hotels had. The dining area was a bit dirty with food on the floor and seats. The room was okay, sheets were clean and felt newly washed. Bathroom had a small plaster worm under the sink. Pool was cold so my kids didn’t care for it.

The hotel was definitely nice for the price! I did not get to take my child to enjoy the pool, as it was crowded with at least 10 children and no adult supervision. And these children were jumping in and out, and made it unsafe for my child to get in. This was for both days during my stay, so i wasn't able to wait and go another time. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay!

The room was amazing it slept my family of 6 in one room no problem. I will definitely be coming back

The rooms were clean, spacious. The staff was friendly to us and our grandkids. Breakfast was really good

Upon arrival the person behind the desk was friendly. We were put on the 3rd floor and was told it was the quiet floor. It was anything but quiet. Walls are thin and you can hear everything. People slamming doors all night long, kids knocking on the doors and running at 11 at night. Rooms are old, cobwebs in corners. Towels are very rough. Had to pull the toilet handle up after each flush so it would stop running. Had to unplug lamps so we could plug stuff in. Went down for breakfast at 7:50 and everything was empty. No hot food left, not even a banana left. They had just opened at 7. While I stood waiting for more food to be brought out I watched the employee clean up the trash can, push trash down into the can, and go right back to touching food without washing her hands. Needless to say I left without getting any food. No breakfast, not much sleep. Wouldn’t recommend.

Good value for the price but the pool was overfilled with kids and never could use it as its quite small. Perhaps an adult only time would be a good improvement

We are really disappointed with this Hotel. I was on a trip with my family for 2 days and the cleanliness of our room was below expectations. On top of that, on our first day, I came to the breakfast room at 9:20 am (breakfast was supposed to be served until 10 am), and there was NO hot food. Nothing. I was with my 2 years old and he was hungry with nothing hot to eat. The second day was the same - no hot food and no milk! The receptionist was so uninterested in our complaint. I did not recommend this hotel to anybody!

I drove 3-1/2 hours to stay there with my daughter, son-in-law- and 3 grandkids under the age of 5 only to find out they gave away my room due to an ice storm in the area to someone that lost power. all the area hotels were booked so we had no place to stay.
