Hampton Inn & Suites Detroit/Chesterfield Township

Decently comfortable stay despite the property's hot tub being broken and no hot water due to a broken heating unit. We were informed at check in (4 pm) that the hot water wasnot functioning in the building, but expected to work by 6 pm. My husband and kids still enjoyed the pool. I had an event to attend, and when I returned later, I was informed that there would not be any hot water during out stay. The hot water unit had gone out, and the nearest parts available were in Kentucky. We understand that things happen out of the hotel's control, and they were making the best of a bad situation. We still had a decent stay, and breakfast. The hotel offered bottles of water upon check in, and when I arrived after an evening event, I was offered my choice of (non alcoholic) drinks from the suite shop, and another bag with more waters, and a small bag of peanuts and cookies. Mel, the front desk agent, was very helpful both mornings, and helped us contact hotels.com about our booking, and we were able to get a full refund for the stay due to the hot water issue, as they were offering refunds/comp nights due to the hot water issue. The other two male front desk agents on duty the night of August 16/morning of August 17th were also very helpful.

It was a very enjoyable trip and the family and i were very pleased with this hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel a couple times. I feel like the front desk staff is generally rude. They accused me of possibly smoking Marijuana in my room! Im very anti drugs. So this was very insulting. Especially since it was spoke out loud in front of my small children! We also recieved 2 noise complaints but they were before 6pm. My kids are young and were excited about swimming. We could not have been this loud!!

The hotel is perfectly located. Behind/next to there is a McDonald's, taco bell and kfc along with a gas station. Right in front of the hotel is a little strip mall with a salon/ tanning, a dollar tree and across the road is walmart so very conveniently located and just down the road is multiple places to eat. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. The staff were very kind and friendly.

We stayed for 10 days while visting family in the area. Rooms were clean. Pet area. Laundry facilities. Everything we needed for our stay. Could have cleaned up some of the garbage around the parking lot though. Inside the hotel was clean. We are planning another stay at this hotel in the summer while attending a family wedding.

Really enjoyed the fact the property has adult only swim times in the morning and the evening. Great feature that I haven’t ran across before and was appreciated when we we’re on a quick holiday without our children.

We stayed here 3 years ago pre-pandemic to visit family and thought it was great. This time, we booked it again specifically due to the crib option. We were traveling with 2 small children and realized we were given the wrong room and had to go back downstairs to retrieve the key for the correct room. We were also told cribs were not available so our toddler had to sleep between my husband and I which was uncomfortable and unsafe. The shower head nozzle was loose and not adjustable. Also realized the lamp shade light bulb was burnt out the middle of the night, as I needed light. This place needs routine amenities checks/ ensure they are working and routine updating.

One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had in a long time. Well worth the nightly rate. Location was optimum for accessing retail needs or avoiding the “rat race” by hopping on highway to suburban lakeshore communities north and east. The size of the room allowed our family to enjoy time together w/o feeling trapped. While the pool was too cool and the hot tub was too hot, we still enjoyed them and the outdoor patio area. Having dinner outside then being able to immediately access the facility was really nice. Appreciated the hours of availability and having the Adult Only hour. The grounds surrounding the parking lot could use some cleanup, but limited staffing in this day means efforts have to be focused to inside the property, I’m sure. Front Desk and Housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Need fans in the bathroom. And window unit (heat/AC) would be better in window near bed, rather than so close to its thermostat. Breakfast had nice variety of hot and cold options and was tasty. We will definitely be back and this will be our new go to location while we visit extended family in the area : )

The staff were AWFUL. We rented 2 rooms and the staff never said one hello. Not even a smile. My 5 year old spilled some milk on the floor at breakfast and the cleaning lady yelled at me. It was disgusting. When I told the lady to check out the stuff had bad manners she whispered under her breath "f*ck you" loud enough for me 3 kids to hear. I will never go back there.

I was happy with the room and checkin. Daytime staff were friendly! There are several hotel's near area (within walking distance) and there are alot of people hanging around in parking lots which is a bit uncomfortable especially when traveling alone or with kids.
