Tru by Hilton Monroe

Nice hotel. Staff was not super friendly, but they were efficient. I got a room that smelled like cheese and they changed us right away. The hotel is nice. Nice pool. No towels though. There was a phone, and the staff was informed. Apparently they ran out of clean towels. We had to walk soaking up to our room. Ok fitness area. Nice pool table. Fun board games to go with kids. Breakfast is ok, not the best, but for one night it was fine. I got there, there were no eggs left, or cups for the coffee, and a big “no milk” sign was displayed over the cereals. After insisting, all was replenished. The room was nice; simple, but well designed. Beds were comfortable. I slept so well. Bathroom was spacious and well equipped. Large parking. A few restaurants you can drive to; it is a suburban area.

The free pool table, board game's and swimming pool were awesome for entertaining our kids and their friends!! There was also lots of comfortable seating inside and outside for the adults to hangout!

Room was clean but very small. Couldn't use pool. To many kids. Staff was good. Pool table is basically for kids. Far to abused for real use. Thin walls. Could here ppl fighting through walls.

Hotel was clean and very nice. However for a family it’s the smallest room I’ve ever seen! No room to move around, no dressers, no storage, nowhere to put anything! I wish the room had a bathtub. The pool is so nice but way to much chlorine and no hot tub.

It was the worst experience we've had traveling with my family anywhere. Staff (JAMIE) manager made our stay exceptionally terrible refusing to lower the Christmas music jamming under our room in the lobby keeping us up. Housekeeping walked in our room at 930 am asking us if we were staying another day? Checkout was noon. Unbelievable. Bathroom was broke. This place was the worst.... Sad, area is noe

I had never heard of the Tru hotel before so wasn't sure what to expect at such a low price. WOW! I was amazed at the openness and great decor. Check in was quick and simple. Spacious parking. The room was the biggest surprise, The openness and minimalist really welcomed me. No large clunky dresser to get in the way, the portable computer table and chair was comfortable. The bed was soft and welcoming. No dusty drapes to open and close, a beautiful screen shade and a darkening shade was it. No germ filled carpeting, vinyl linoleum through out. The bathroom was large and spacious. Just check out the pictures of the room I post. the lobby area has at least 4 large sitting area's all separate from each other for privacy. The even have a pool table there. So while the kids are in the swimming pool (warm water too) the dad's can be playing billiards or working out in the gym.

Greatly appreciated the extra outlets in the bathroom and the multiple USB ports throughout the room. Large selection of TV channels helped to entertain children.

Everything was great except for the fact that it was too noisy. The lobby was extremely loud with what looked like a party going on and there were rowdy kids running up and down the halls all evening. One kid almost plowed into us when the elevator opened.

Very nice hotel. Might ask for a room on the top floor due to kids stomping and playing at night. But over all a really nice place.

Will stay again. Friendly Staff, clean, great amenities. Walls are a bit thin so if there is noise you hear it. Fortunately for us the crying baby was only crying a few minutes. Beds are okay. Linens and pillows good. Clean is most important and they had that!
