Holiday Inn Detroit Northwest - Livonia, an IHG Hotel

The property was very clean and up to date. All staff were polite and professional. The pool was so clean and my kids were able to enjoy it all to themselves. My only issue was the $10 for a basic continental breakfast buffet that didn’t have many options. The eggs were really watery and not appeasing to the eyes. Other than that stay was great!

Room was spacious, but that’s about the only pro. We booked the room with the “additional living area,” only to find out that it’s just a pull out bed between the normal bed and the tv, not a separate living area. There were no blankets and pillows for the pull out bed, so we asked the front desk for some. My husband was met with an attitude by the person working at the desk and told “we don’t keep extra blankets and pillows.” My husband asked how it’s “extra” when it’s literally another bed in the room that we paid for and the woman basically told him oh well. So apparently our toddler was just supposed to sleep on a bed with no blankets or pillows. The next day we asked the new person at the front desk and she looked at me like I was nuts and said, “uhhhh hmmm let me try to call housekeeping” as if me asking for pillows and blankets for a bed was an inconvenience. the housekeeping woman was very sweet and got us what we needed finally, but the front desk was not helpful with it. The room was not ideal for a long stay, as there is not a dresser to store clothes. There were 2 drawers under the tv and that’s it. You would think in such a big room they would have a dresser or chest of drawers for people to put their belongings. There was a closet, but no hangers. The breakfast was very limited and not good. Pool was freezing and the pool deck was gross. Hairs all over and trash on the ground. I am not usually one to write reviews, but I was so shocked at how our stay went.

Dirty towels in room on arrival, room was not very clean, front desk not friendly. Arrived 30 minutes before check in and was told to “sit and wait” although hotel sis not seem to be busy. Pool closed for maintenance, babies crawling around weight/work out room while parents working out.

The staff was horrible. They treated me worse than I have ever been treated in my life. The phone in my room didn’t work. The toilet ran all day and night. People/kids screaming and running up and down the halls late at night. And I didn’t even complain, yet somehow me wanting to extend my stay was somehow a problem. I was bothered 8 different times in a few hour period of time, they kept ringing the phone even though I reported it didn’t work. Then I was told I was the problem. I could go on and on…staff-front deal, housekeeping and manager were all extremely rude.

Was not told maid service was by request only. Had to go to front desk to request items for the next day ie, coffee, towels. My handicapped child slipped on water in the elevator from swimmers and fell.
