Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Detroit Livonia

I booked this hotel knowing it would be good , we stayed at a Fairfield inn during January in New Jersey and it was amazing. This one was exactly the same we came to Michigan to have a nice hotel with a pool and breakfast for my son’s junior gold competition and we weren’t disappointed. We love Fairfield inn and suites.

The kids were looking forward to swimming at the hotel, but the water was way too cold and the kids were shivering. We didn't get to use the pool as much as we wanted due to the cold temp. The breakfast was good, but ended too early so half of us didn't get any.

Property was decently clean. There was loud children on our floor who were messing with a luggage cart until the early morning hours. Also, it smelled like marijuana badly on our floor which made it come into our room. We put a towel to cover the crack under the door but this did not help. Would love for sticking to the no smoking policy in the hotel.

Best place to stay when visiting family in Livonia! Good rates, attentive staff, and great location.

Well maintained & clean... Actually the best condition of anywhere we have stayed in the past few years. Pool was warm & area was also well maintained. Did note that one elevator was out of service, tho I saw a serviceman there the 2nd day of our stay. Not happy that we had a room between a family group with 2-3 rooms next to and across from us with many kids that were very loud in the hallway, running & screaming & crying. Called the front desk about the noise after 10pm, clerk happily said he would be right there, but not much changed. Yet the room itself seemed like there must be some sound proofing in the walls, otherwise it would not have be tolerable. We regularly travel for business & usually ask for a room away from families with kids, as this is frequently an issue. Would stay here again. Close to restaurants & shopping, and nearby to our event, which was nice.

We stayed here with the hope of letting our kiddos play in the pool after we had come down for a hockey game. The pool was not heated and so cold that we couldn’t comfortably and safely play in the pool. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, food was just ok.

Our stay was great the only things that were bothersome were that the pillows were not firm and when you laid on them your head would go through the pillow to the bed. And the pool area should be checked people were eating boxes of pizza and they had a party in there. It was so loud and the kids did not allow other guests to swim. Several guests came in and walked right out. Otherwise this stag was perfect! A solid 9/10 just due to those things. We will be returning!

Rented this room for family visiting for the holiday. These are their comments. The room was very clean. Comfortable. Front desk was excellent. I can second that. Breakfast was great. Only issue, they said, was the shower water never got hot. Stayed lukewarm.
