After we walked up a hill to the Inn with our kids and all our stuff, we were told “sorry” for not picking us up and then made to wait an hour (including having to feed baby in lobby) while they tried to find our reservation (while blaming us for booking through hotels.com). Once checked in, the rest of our stay was fine. Food from the restaurant at the hotel was very average - edible but would not recommend or return.

Beautiful property. My only complaint was due to travel, we had to take the 9pm ferry. There was not anyone there to greet us as it had said in email. Nothing like getting dropped off on an island in the dark with your children and luggage with no idea where to go. Luckily, we saw someone that pointed us in the right direction.

This is a beautiful property. The rooms are stunning, very clean and comfy beds. This is a hotel in the woods on an island.Think “Dirty Dancing” resort with families, not a romantic, quiet retreat. First off, DO NOT RESERVE IN ADVANCE. It is hardly ever full and NO fun in the rain. You will be charged in full unless you cancel 2 weeks in advance. There are two major issues: 1. There is no information provided as to how/where/hours to do things…(like eat) other than a simple map in the lobby; and 2. They play CONSTANT banging music at the pool that echoes up onto your 2nd floor balcony. It’s incessant and mind-numbing. Want to turn on the fireplace in your room that you paid extra for? Figure it out…but…it’s a trick. THEY need to turn it in for you EVERY TIME you want to use it. Or…you can take the grate off and, as the front desk told me…try to figure it out on your own. Want food? Figure it out. No answer at the front desk or “restaurant” phone line. No info/hours/transportation info (both off site) etc. There was a line at the desk to ask questions, so we decided to walk. Guess what…no signs pointing you to where to go, and in the dark it’s a challenge. There are no signs/pamphlets and limited people available to assist you. All the staff is under the age of 25. There is also a strong scent they pump throughout which gets to be a bit much after a while. They need printed info in the rooms explaining the amenities and food, signage, and turn down the music and the scent.

The Inn and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. The staff were very pleasant and helpful though it was apparent they were doing multiple jobs. It should be noted that there are very limited activities for children. It has a very calm and relaxed vibe that I found very appealing.

Absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we walked into the lobby with the friendliness of Reception, during the two nights we were there and when we left. Total relaxation next to the pool and on our balcony. Very nice and clean rooms with plenty of space. The recreation room was fun, great idea. There are a couple downfalls. The Market was closed so you have to wait for the restaurant to open which isn’t convenient for a family on a budget, so plan to eat on the Mainland or pack food to bring over - there are plenty of tables in the lobby area. The bikes are not complementary which is a bummer - in my opinion the cost of the rooms should cover the use. But these factors we worked around. All in all we really enjoyed our two days and would definitely come back.
