Revel Hotel Des Moines Urbandale, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Absolutely beautiful hotel and I travel year-round for work and travel hockey with my kids. Was in town for knotfest with my daughter and didn't spend much time here but the rooms and the general hotel are beautiful. Staff was awesome and the continental breakfast was hot and better than most restaurants.

The property, staff and room were excellent will most definitely stay again. But I didn’t like that it was a guest calling the front desk continuously with a noise complaint with youth baseball players and their families staying there for a tournament. With that many teams that played ages ranging from 9U and up of course it was going to be noise.

We will recommend the revel hotel to family and friends. The nicest hotel we have stayed in years. A big compliment to the staff.

The room was very nice. It's a newer hotel, still seems clean and fresh. The breakfast was mediocre. Not a ton of selection, not the best quality of food, and just one person in charge of keeping everything stocked on a very busy Sunday morning. My biggest complaint is how the shower is set up. It has a completely see-through door, and isn't in its own room. If you're travelling solely with someone you're okay with seeing you naked, it's not bad. But if you're sharing the room with friends, or have kids who shouldn't be seeing Mommy or Daddy in the shower, this is not the place to stay. The way the mirror is set up directly across from the shower door, you're visible to people even when they're in the bed/tv area of the room. What a stupid set-up. I probably would stay here again, but feel like the info about the shower should be out there for others to take into consideration when deciding if they want to stay here.

When we got there we had to wait because no one was at the front desk. So I went into the bar and asked for someone. When she finally got there she grabbed something and then said she would be back. When she finally did sit down she answered a call and continued on that while 4 different families stood there to check in. Finally she got to all of us and told us breakfast would be served until 11am. When hubby & I got to our room it was 2 fulls although I reserved a King then on top of that the air conditioner fans were right above us on the roof and they were loud and vibrated the whole room. So when we got up the next day we went down to eat Breakfast only to find out it was done at 10 am we got down there at 10:02 and everything was already cleared up and cleaned up. Luckily there was a restaurant next door we got to go to before we left. Overall the hotel looks were great very updated etc but the service was awful. We don't think we will ever go back when there are many other places that are just as nice. We had higher expectations coming from a Hilton hotel.

Using Expedia to book, I reserved a 2 Queen Suite with a pull out couch. After waiting about 25 min for the people ahead of me (2 people) to get room cards (their computer system couldn't print room swipe cards), the suite was unavailable. They wanted our family of 6 to sleep in a King suite with pull out couch. After about 20 minutes, they found a 2 queen room that could accommodate 2 roll in single beds. While the woman who helped us was kind, the whole process was exhausting and I would not stay there again.

Stayed here many times and last two stays there were bugs in my room. First time last November it was centipedes in the shower. I had a cast on at the time and didnt feel safe trying to kill them so I had the team get them. They were not happy I fidnt take care of it. They gave me sanitizer for the bar to clean the shower but wouldnt clean it for me. I know things happen so I stayed again and it was going well till about 230 am. Got up to grab a drink and there were bugs running around on stand with cofffemake that hides the fridge. I killed one (habe pictures) but the babies scattered. Its gross. But worse is the team there and the hilton corporation doesnt care. Corporate couldnt document it because I hadn't checked out (I had) and kept transfering me and then hung up. They legit do not care.

Rooms were elegant and comfortable. Staff was helpful above and beyond. The bar area made for a fun family gathering area.

It was nice to have food and drinks available after a long drive so I did not have to leave once checked in. Staff were great and welcoming. As others have reviewed, very odd shower set up. It would be awkward if traveling with a family. The restaurant has an outside sitting area also which is pleasant in the evening.

Great hotel! Staff was very friendly. Bar area nice. Tasty breakfast. Outdoor space nice to hang out. Nice to have option to purchase snacks. Bed and pillows were great. 10 minutes from a lot of options for food and shopping! Only odd part was see thru shower if traveling with full family. No door to shut room to shower area.
